I had heard they were going to source some alloy bodies from the UK, but this sounds sketchy to me without an explanation.
"These are the Shelby CSX 1000 series Cobras. These are the very rarest of the continuation Cobras"
What, CSX 1000?! How can you be a dealer since 2002 and get this wrong? Either very sloppy copy or something fishy.
|
CSX 1000 is correct. They are hand rolled bodies from England rather than bodies they make by machine elsewhere. There's a finished one in the For Sale section asking over $200K.

Here is CSX1017 for sale in the classifieds:

Question is where were the photos taken that is in the arizonashelbycobras web site taken???
Are these pics from the shop in Las Vegas or some shop in Arizona? Who is actually assembling the cars (roller w/paint minus engine)??

The pictures are definitely from the Cobra building shop at Shelby Las Vegas; no doubt about it but the ad doesn't say where they are so it might be legitimate; also, when I was at Shelby a month ago they mentioned that they could still order hand rolled AC bodies from the UK so again this could be legit. The CSX1000 is the only odd thing here...

Apparently there isn't any further fender contouring needed for the front turn signal lights. Drill and install??

CSX1017 was at Barrett Jackson Vegas in the vendor display area in the Shelby Distribution / Superformance booth. The ad photos were taken there.

AC has not built an alloy body for around six years. they no longer have the staff, tooling or even a location that could come close to building a body.
AC is only a "brand" licensed by A.L.'s USA holding company "ACEDES LLC", nothing more.

Take a good hard look at the air intakes and bumper hole locations on the front then start looking other things over. Not being critical as they are sweet but "I'm just sayin".
