Why do you refer to your Cobra's as "she"......

Given the nature of these cars I am wondering why so many of the club members refer to their Cobra as "she". Seems like with all the power and nastiness, noise and stink these cars put forth, being referred to as male would seem more appropriate, any thoughts on this phenomenon? %/ tin-man

it's not the power it's the cost.

azfordman 12-27-2010 11:17 PM

It personalizes it and gives it a level of importance above just an object. If I am talking about someone's car or anything else, I do say "it". "It" has a nice paint job, for example. I have always referred my own things as "she", be it a cobra, truck, gun, etc. Talking about my .44 I will say, "She's my big girl..." As far as she versus he, saying something like, "I want to push her to the limit...." sounds a lot better than the other way around.

I generally do not anthropomorphize my cars, but based on the curses I yelled at my Cobra back when it had quick jacks, that MF must be a male.

jolsen42 12-28-2010 06:48 AM

Because guy's are ugly. John O

cobrajeff 12-28-2010 08:37 AM

A thing of beauty trying to kill you when you do something stupid...

Yea, I'd say "she" fits.%/

Bluedog 12-28-2010 09:12 AM

Because she wore a bra...albeit a transparent one!

lamaluv 12-28-2010 09:16 AM

Ever since I bought my Cobra my wife has refered to it as "my red headed mistress". I think that the wife has my relationship with my car pegged right on. ERA EXP 002 is definitely a "she".;)

I guess if you look at the voluptuous curves of body, it's got this Angelina Jolie kind of look to it - beautiful, but could get you in a heap of trouble if you get too frisky with her. :D

Sharroll Celby 12-28-2010 11:06 AM

It is a "She", because if it has tires or titts, youre gonna have lots of fun AND problems as well!

Xavier 12-28-2010 11:44 AM

Because I am not going to get in or on a guy or pamper him.

Nedsel 12-28-2010 11:45 AM

Guys don't leave wet spots on the garage floor. Usually.

Jamo 12-28-2010 12:45 PM

Quite right that.

Leecbr 12-28-2010 01:53 PM

Cobras are a thing of beauty. The curves keep you staring much like a pretty woman walking by. Even when I walk out into the garage, I can't help but scan the curves.
She might sound mean and drain my pocket book. I still look forward to the next ride.

It wouldn't work for me to think of the cobra as a he.

fordracing65 12-28-2010 03:23 PM

i just refer to mine as THE PANTY DROPPER

jhv48 12-28-2010 03:56 PM

Because only a female could cause me so much excitement and so much trouble at the same time.
