BTW...

The Kirkham's "splash" of their car was digital, and was "messaged" afterwards to correct the ravages of time and hung-over English panel-beaters.

I can say with personal knowledge that HiTech's molding of CSX3190 was a full molding directly from the original car and not a measured or partial copy. It was done with full knowledge and permission of the owner during it's restoration. I don't know about others though.

Thanks for adding that Larry. I'm sure that's the case for most splashes.

Cheers,

As far as I know, was the BRA289 from UK a splash from John Atkins 289 (COB 6058). If you read the SAAC registry you will find out, that this 289 (if I remember right!) was always a car with many discussions etc. "air car" and so on. It even went so far that some Cobras, still racing !!, were in the discussion of the the AC Club: real or not real etc. So if the BRA289 was a clone from the Atkins 289, it's a clone of a car built in the late 70th or early 80th maybe. The original splash was from a car that has been raced for many years incl. all accidents and repairs. The car was inclined, bent, wavy, buckled every where with different dimensions and heights etc. at the time the splash was made. And so was the BRA289 body shell.
