Trunk Mounted 3rd Brake Light
1 Attachment(s)
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...pictureid=5055 How’s this for a bit of extra brake light in the rear? It's a 3m backed LED strip from Pep Boys. I mounted it on the lower lip under the rubber molding. It's almost un-noticeable in the daylight until you step on the brake pedal.:)

I like it, wonder what it would look like on te plate frame instead?
|
I actually considered that but didn't care for the way it would look in the daylight.....

To each his own!
BUT, I thought the whole idea of a third brake light was to get it in the drivers "Face." Actually the thought behind the 3rd brake light was to let the second, third, driver etc., know that a car "in Front" of the pack was slowing down. (Just an old Cops 2-cents.) DV |
Looks good. Nice addition.

I had a couple of threads when I did this last summer. Over in the ERA forum, as I recall.

Patrick, very nice job !!! I see you did some fancy machining. My install of the LED strips gave me that little extra light at braking and is basically undetectable under the rubber molding in the day time. As a safety factor I would prefer a higher light but haven't decided if I want to mount anything to the body yet. If I make that decision I think I will go with this one. http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=1803
