New Shelby Cobra Dealer in Scotsdale

I got invited to the new Shelby Cobra dealership in Scottsdale last week while attending the auctions. Owner, Thomas Blessin seemed like a nice enough guy. Got to vist with Arie Lyundike ( hope I spelled his name correctly ) and Bob Bondaraundt ( Hope I spelled his name correctly also ) Tom had a new Kirkam alum body setting in the showroom also. About 3 or 4 used Shelby Cobras also on the showroom. Had a nice time and got to shop talk with alot of fellow cobra nuts.

Kirkhams rule the street

A call for help. I bought a Contemporary body (paid in full) from Thomas Blessin who is a co owner of West Desert Racing in Scottsdale Az. Thomas was to deliver the body then told me he was busy with the SEMA show and couldnt bring it yet. I have called and no one answers. I tried their website and its shut down. Ive emailed the new email address he gave me and no answer. Im asking my friends in the Cobra Community to help me locate Thomas so I can get my body. My email address is Michael4yah@msn.com . If anyone has any information, especially those guys up in Scottsdale or Wickenburg please let me know. Thanks Michael

Wait a minute-a new Shelby dealer?
Didn't Shelby just announce no new production until further notice??
Or two years??-I forgot which.

Well thanks Ron-I'll have to check everything I read for it's 'sell-by' date.

I posted this in this thread because people who knew of them had posted here. Here's the ad that I bought it from.

What happen to Christal James and Arizona Cobras. They had a wine and cheese party and welcome last year for Barrett Jackson Scottsdale Arizona. Are they still open?

They are both, her and Tom not affiliated with Shelby anymore, they do still sell classic cars and are located in Old Town Scottsdale now.

Did any of the things mentioned in the article happen? Are they still in business? I can't find that anyone has answered that question directly.

mickmate 12-04-2011 06:31 PM

They are still in business I believe as the previous company name West Desert Racing. They are not a Shelby dealer any more. They still have Cobras and other collectibles for sale and some other interesting projects going on.

What exactly happened? Everyone on this thread seems like they talk in code. Just lay it out so stupid people like me can understand it all.

I don't want to go public with the details, but I'm waiting for Christal James to return money I paid for parts never delivered with CSX6045. I know there are at least 2 other members of this forum who are having similar problems with her and/or Tom Blessin.

Well I'm sorry to hear that. I've been playing in this stupid Cobra replica sandbox for almost 30 years, and I remember meeting my first crook almost from the get-go. Back then you didn't have the luxury of a nice forum where you could "research" folks in the industry and look for a good decade or more of consistent, positive performance before you decide to deal with them. If it were me, I doubt I would be as polite as you all seem to be. Nothing I hate more than getting screwed.

I don't know why so many bottom feeders are in the replica bidness....I had someone, whom I thought was a friend, here on CC...took me for $4500....he is out of business now, thank God.....go get 'em if you can.
