New Cobra Owner, need advice on Seats and Wheels
Hello everyone. My name is Jeddi and I just purchased a very nice factory five kit. It has a 302 engine, t5 tranny and quality paint job. Runs very nice and straight. It's piratically brand new. Got a great deal but I need put my own touch on it.
The seats have to go. I'm looking for standard low back seats to replace the Sparco racing seats (which will be for sale or trade soon). I would love to know what to look for.
I'm also not sure about the wheels. They're light and very fancy, but they're not authentic looking. I would love to find out the best place to buy a set of 17" Heritage or similar wheels.
I'm very excited about the car and looking forward to enjoying it for many years.

did you look here?
http://www.ffcars.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=19
there are some seats on the first page, and depending on what you want for wheels you can usually find a set of halibrand replicas or something like that for sale
congrats on the new car....

Yeah those wheels have got to go,they are not for this car,you want the period correct look on this car,not a mismatch like i'm seeing, what's the point of having a replica if the parts don't match the original. Bought TEAM 111 wheels and I love them. They have a web site by the same name.
"Finishline" sell motolita steering wheel, look period correct. You can find seats everywhere on cobra forum,go on the FFR wed site forum and join the club since you have a FFR it's worth it.

Those seats are ugly too,it kills the look. That car is a hot rod and it's not suppose to be a Cadillac,it's designed too go fast and scream look at me now. I Bought TEAM 111 wheels and I love them. I've got a Factory Five car and am using North Race Cars (Richard Oben's) Team III wheels. They're 5-lug but he knows what fits. I'd recommend giving him a call.
As far as seats; I'm using these and I think they're great:
http://www.subesports.com/products/c...ra/prodID/1896
I had high-back seats; liked the comfort and support but didn't like the look. So I replaced them with the low-back Roadster SS seats that sit on these mounts:
http://www.breezeautomotive.com/deta...=250&cat_id=10
I ran a 3/4" square tube across the rear of the bracket to raise the rear of the low-back seats so that they didn't have as much rake.
Anyway, that's my setup as far as wheels and seats. I'm happy.

Reason: Added note about 3/4" tube.

nevermind. . .
I just pulled up a bunch of wheels for sale for you, and then noticed your car is a 4 lug.
Another search turned up 0 results for 4 lug halibrands on FFCars

Factory FF5 seats would be a good choice for sure....
as for the wheels....if you are going to let your nutz show....
you should have all 5 of them....

Contact Dick at North race Cars. He has some beutifull Team III wheels. Although not listed on the web site, I think I remember him saying once that he did have 4 lug wheels available.
http://www.northracecars.com/wheelofferings.html
Also contact Vintage Wheels. They advertise on the other board, but I don't know anything about them.
http://www.vintagewheelsus.com/arWheels.php
For seats, finding stock low back seats is pretty easy. They're available from a few venders. And you see them for sale on the boards pretty often. And, there's a reason for that; low back seats have a definate safety concern. There's a reason you don't see low back seats in cars built in the last 25 years or so. If you do buy a seat of low backs, you culd easily recoup your money selling the racing seats you have now.

That's good to know about the seats. But I have to get rid of the ones in there right now. They're just too bulky and tight for me.
What else do you recommend?

I understand. I considered those for my car, but decided against them for the same reasons.
FFR used to offer high back seats as an option. They don't any more for some reason. But, look for the Cobra Clubman seats. The fit well, and are very comfortable.
I have also run across a set of high back seats that look like the original low back. Safety and good looks.

I also have a 4 lug FFR roadster. Could someone give me all the steps needed to make the change from 4 to 5 lug? Maybe toss in an estimate of the cost to change them out.
P.S. Sorry for the hijack but it sounds like the OP might be interested in changing to 5 lug also.

I bought my Team III wheels from Richard at North Race Cars. He will work with you on sizing to make sure you get the right wheels for your car. Richard lives here in Kansas City and used to sell FFR cars.
By the way, I painted my wheel centers a charcoal grey to match my stripe on my car.

The wheels come in the color of the car you posted (second). Those did not match my black or my center stripe so I painted them. I do not remember exactly what I payed for the wheels. I bought wheels and tires (17X8 fronts and 17X11 rears) with Sumitomo tires from Richard. The Team III wheels are very, very nice. Richard came to my garage and measured my wheels for me since I have a Premier car and not a FFR. He will be able to do yours on the phone - he is that good!!
Good luck.
