Thanks for the link. I have checked out that video before, looks impressive! Would be even more impressive if it was blown Butch |
Check out a Lone Star. They are 4" longer and really complete kits. The Lone Star doesn't get much play on this forum but you can cruise on over to the Lone Star site to see more. The larger, modern engines will fit and you'll end up with a cobra that's worth more than a FFR when you're done! :3DSMILE:

Butch, I'm sure that the modern engine would fit in most of the replicas on the market today, so just go for the car you like the most. My recommendation would be to check out the Hurricane and ERA replicas because they both have great engine placement, the motors are set in the middle and not back near the firewalls.
check it out, Bill :) |

FFR have confirmed that the supercharged 4.6 does require a number of modifications to fit their chassis because of the changes Ford made to the accessory drive on that engine. Butch |
Hello Butch,
I have had four Cobra Roadsters (Shell Valley, Unique, SPF & Shelby (CSX4264) One Daytona (FFR) and a GT40(SPF) over the last 27 years. I have sold them all and currently have a naked garage. I built three of them from scratch and the path I believe the best to follow is SPF, you almost can not afford to duplicate the fit ,finish, paint and quality of the SPF when it comes out of the shipping container. The modern Ford modular engines simply drop in and you specify the rear end ratio, transmission, color, paint, interior, etc. etc. that fits what you want to do with the car. One man's opinion and I'm sure that there will be some feedback from the community here on Club Cobra. If your goal is the journey as opposed to the destination all of the recommendations are well intentioned but, reflect the opinion of the poster.......as is my input. My next project will probably be an SPF street roadster with a 427 windsor under the hood backed by a Tremec 600 with 3:27 gears in the rear end. Tony R. |

We did our first 4.6 in 1997 our car was reconfigured to fit the 32 valve engine with no compromises We have one on the track with 1300 HP If you are going to go with a modern engine why not mach it with something built to fit it? look at my pitcher galleries

The coyote will fit in a superformance with a supercharger, centrifical and roots, the only problem is the intercooler, you will have to modify that aspect.
|
I can see adding an intercooler (and ancillaries) will be a task on any kit
