Suitable kit for modern Ford engines

Greetings all, this is the first thread I have posted here after much reading and research.

I am trying to decide on the correct kit/engine combination (for me) and certainly would welcome any advice or information. I understand and appreciate the purist version of the AC Cobra but I would personally lean toward a more modern Ford engine, either the 4.6, 5.0 or 5.4L (with supercharger). My delima is finding a kit that will accommodate this physically large engine without intruding into precious foot boxes. Before you say 'use the search button' I have. As I said, any constructive comments would be much appreciated

Cheers
Butch

FFR is the logical choice, although if you throw enough money at Peter/Bob at ERA, they might do another one like mine :D

Hi Bill,

I have been trying to communicate with FFR for some time via email, VERY slow to get answers.. I have chatted with Bob from ERA, unfortunately these engines intrude into their foot boxes but he is apparently getting back to me about exactly how much. Can I ask what they did for you?

I personally saw a Backdraft TD with a Coyote (5.0) in it. It fit quite well. It did not have the supercharger installed but it looked as though there was plenty of room for it.

Backdraft with modular engine

Based on your location I see why you are looking to install a modern Ford powerplant. The Backdraft can be ordered to accommodate all the engines you list. Let me know if I can be of further help.

Go Nuts,

You might wish to speak with Larry at JBL about the touring roadster design.

Go Nuts - the DRB (Qld) can fit them in, and they look like a cobra sorta (from a distance if you squint a bit)

Cheers
