Why buy that car when you can have a new Kirkham in the 100,00.00 range. The Roush EFI stuff is just way out of line on the pricing in my opinion. This is just way to much to invest into a Superformance Cobra. Just my two cents.

Buy THIS for 43 grand and drive it for a year. See if owning a Cobra is right for you ( it isn't right for everyone ).....MORE PICS HERE Spend some time getting to know it and finding out what you like/don't like. Then you can customize it with the other 40grand into exactly what YOU envision. The best part is, if you find that a Cobra isn't for you, then selling a car for 43K is quite a bit easier than a highly customized one for 80k. Don't get me wrong, that is one drop dead beautiful ride and to replicate it would run upwards of 100k.

I bought mine used for 38K and spent another 18k making it into a very personal ride that suits my tastes and personality. This included a new trans, re-geared diff, new fuel system, wheels/tires, and a bunch of cosmetics. Here is the result:

If you feel you want more power, then talk to Keith Craft about building you a monster small block without the FI stuff on it. Personally, I think that naturally aspirated Cobras are more trouble free but everyone has a different opinion. I have a 605HP KC motor and can't really see a need for much more for how I drive the car.

Just my opinion and nothing more. No warranties implied or offered. Your mileage will vary with use. Follow all label instructions. Do not operate while driving.

P.S. I have absolutely no affiliation with the seller of that car on EBAY nor do I know the history/condition. I was just using it as an example.

You know, guys, I think this has really gone the wrong way. They guy asked about a car and everyone pipes and says "that's not a good car, here's a better one". Look, the car is probably fairly priced for what it is, and what it cost to build it then and even more so for now. It has some things about it some people might not like - I'm not particularly fond of the engine treatment - but if he likes it, that's OK. I happen to like British Racing Green. Many do not.

And the suggestion to spend $20K more for a Kirkham may be good advice, if he has 20K more to spend.

To each his own.

I think you ought to reread the thread. I don't think anyone said "it's not a good car." I said it was gorgeous and it is. Hydramada said it "is one drop dead beautiful ride."

The asking price is $80,000. There are many alternatives at that price level, including a used Kirkham that I suggested as an alternative for $85,000.

You come to a forum like this, you get opinions and I think most here are advising caution on purchasing a $80,000 SPF, based on valuation, even though it's one helluva SPF.
