Pretty much the same set-up. 13 mpg on the freeway is about the best I've gotten from my Roush 402 SR/TW. My BMW diesel does a bit better. I got nearly 37 mpg recently driving from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara.

Great Trip!

Dude, you need a real Cobra engine to get that speed up a lil' bit !
7500 miles in 31 days... that's like 11.5hrs a day behind the wheel at that speed... you must have had a sore !

I have a CSX6000 with a Shelby 427/482 alum and 3.73 rear with W/R 4 speed top loader. I constantly get 5.5 driving 55, or around town. At first I though I had a leak! I have put around 700 miles on the car and it has never gotten any better.

Same as mine. Everyone else (other than the 302's) are lying.

I think there is something wrong - I can understand large old style engines naturally aspirated and large carburetors around 10mpg
...but 5.5 --- nah, take a closer look at your jets. The spark plug will show you the story.

Laps per load
About 30 laps. Maybe 33 with an occasional yellow flag....
More important would be tires per season, then you know the fun factor is up there.

I'm getting 12 mpg around town. Last check was ~15 on I-5. Harleys get 43-45 mpg and C-4 corvette 18 mpg around town and 25+ on long trips...

ok. I have a 454 sideoiler with a Quickfuel 850, 3:54 gears, new Avons, and a new TKO 600 with a .065 overdrive. I just did 200 miles, 4-5 full throttle blasts and lots of 80 mpg cruising...... and I got 12.6 mpg. I was getting 9-10 mpg with the old toploader

I don't remember ever checking milage.Maybe I just don't want to know.Course it would not matter what it is, the fun factor is over the top.Know for certain the motor is running at peak efficiency thats all that matters to me.

I'm with you. The only reason I knew mine from the trip was because I had my credit card records, and I wrote down the mileage at the beginning and end of the trip.
