Girling brake canister coating

Hello all,

I am using 3 brake canister mounted in the center of the firewall. The black powder coating does not seem to hold up to the brake fluid.

I wanted to have them black chromed, but not able to find a place to black chrome them at a reasonable price.


I have seen aluminum canisters but not sure where to get them.

Any suggestions what to use or what will hold up to the brake fluid.

I just took all the paint off mine. This summer when it is too hot to drive, I may consider having them painted with 2 part epoxy paint.

I had the same problem. The brake fluid lifted the paint. I think if you only filled the canisters 1/3rd full, the brake fluid may not leak out.

Kirkham sells aluminum units that look good. They could remain uncoated.
