That is gorgeous but when "How much does it cost?" is not listed in the frequently asked questions, its usually too much for me.
This is also scares the crap out of me. I hear this over and over about many custom EFI systems. Quote:

tuning
I run an Ford EFI system on my Cobra and it took several years for me to get it tuned correctly. The big problem is I'm always on a budget.
Part of it was a learning curve for me and the mechanics I used thought they could help but did not understand the fuel injected hot rod that I had. Each was able to help solve a problem but not all of them. I had a Ford Mustang processor but a lot of aftermarket speed parts that made it hard for the processor to handle. I found a local Ford mechanic who had a racing back ground that solved all the small problems. Things like 5/16 vacuum hose on a 1/4 barb. A new mass air meter that would not work with my system but worked fine on my buddies Mustang??? Go figure. A dyno shop in Memphis burn me a custom chip to make everything work together. Not I was making hp and car was street-able. Fuel injection is simple. You need a processor, coolant temp. sensor, air temp sensor, throttle position senor, oxygen sensor, and a few other common parts, intake, injectors, correct distributor, wiring harness. etc. The processor receives the information from the sensors and then applies the correct amount of fuel and ignition. The more horsepower you want to more sophisticated the system has to be. But for the street motor it does not take a lot. I love it, motor always self tuning for max performance. When it stops working then you have to find the component that's broke. That where you need a shop (or mechanic) that has the tools to solve the problem. I'm lucky that I have a friend with all the tools and knowledge. The Eight Stack system will be a lot easier to work with because I can download a program into processor and make changes (that is, my buddy can). I found a speed shop with a dyno about 80 miles from my house. Jon only works on Ford fuel injection cars and his rates are very reasonable. $100 an hour for dyno tuning. He will do two pulls for $50 with no tuning. I think I can get 500 hp out of a 347 with the Eight Stack system. Now I need to find a couple of thousand so I can buy a stroker kit. Dwight |
I forgot one thing that TButtrick bought up
in years pasted company sold system that where not street tested or complete. I think the new companies sell a system that it tested and proven to work. Components are a higher quality and matched to work with the whole system. Computers (processors) are much better and cheaper. I think the standard fuel injected system is $3000 to $6000. Which is twice the cost of a carb'ed setup. I think the cost is justified when you raise the hood and look at what appears to be webbers. And it has all the performance and street ability of a new car. I think I have died and gone to car heaven:LOL: see ya on the road Dwight |
I REALLY want one of these systems, but I'm really concerned about how much tweaking needs to be done once it is installed. Hate dealing with issues, once installed just want to "kick the tires and light the fire and do"

give me a couple of weeks and I'll let you know how it goes. But now I think it's a no brain er, plug and play system. My problem was everything was installed incorrectly. I had to remove the intake and start over. I did have a hole drilled into the intake just above the t-stat so I could install the temp. sensor. I used the other factor hole to install the temp. sensor for the dash gauge.
I will take it the the dyno tuner because I want the max out of the system. I am gathering parts and info for a 347 motor and I will use this system on it. Shooting for 500 streetable hp. Like I have in my Cobra. Dwight |
Hello Club Cobra Members,
My name is Dale Schaller and I am Sales and Marketing Manager for Eight Stack Injection and I want to thank all the members that took time to reply to Brent's introduction. I would like to give you a little background on how our company started. Bob Hockenberry, who owns Accuform Mfg a machining company in Youngstown, Ohio, bought the company from Dynatek Racing in November of 2010. I came on board in December of 2010 and from that time until July of 2011 we have been working on improving the system. We redesigned the butterflies and the throttle bodies themselves making the tolerances thus repairing the air leakage around the throttle shafts that cause some problems tuning the system. We redesigned the manifolds and are now making the small block Ford manifolds in house. We made new throttle linkages and are now offering three different types of ECU's, FAST XFI, ACCEL and PERFORMANCE ELECTRONICS. We have tested them all and there is a VAST IMPROVEMENT over the unit Dynatek Racing's ECU. We wanted to make sure that all the problems that the customers of Dynatek Racing were having were addressed prior to us starting to market the product. We know we only have one chance to make a first impression. Along with that we had former Dynatek Racing customers call us to help them get their cars running and it was important to us to make sure that all the people who spent their hard earned money get the value that was promised to them. So we took back 12 former customers systems and tested them, for free, to see if their systems had problems and flow tested them on our flow bench. We called each customer and told them the results and some of them needed new throttle bodies and some new butterflies and some were OK just needed some help with the electronics. We replace the throttle bodies for our cost and did not charge any labor. We have gotten feedback telling us that the systems are now working properly. If there are any Dynatek Racing customers that are having problems with their systems please contact us and we will do all we can to help you. Customer satisfaction, a quality product and honesty are our core values and we know that in today's market place that is essential for a business to prosper. To reply to the people that said our website was flawed we had our website designer go over each word and he did find some problems and we corrected them. Thank all of you who pointed this out to us, we will become a better company listening to our customers and people who have had experience in that area. We are working hard to improve the site and our presence in the market. We are developing new systems and constantly improving our existing systems. Again, thanking all of you for your input as we value each response. HAPPY HOLIDAYS ! Dale |
