When I was a kid in school (sixties), too young to have a car of any type, I read every car magazine I could get my hands on, and from what I remember reading many times over, CSX stood for Carroll Shelby Experimental. Never read once about "export" back then, and I drooled over the Cobra for many years. Kids are very impressionable, and usually have good memories about what they covet. Whatever, just my fifty cents (what car mags cost back then).
