Got the exact same email last night from the "Admin" on another unrelated site. The slime has been causing havoc on it for the last 24 hours now.

I just sent off an e-mail to the "administrator" of this website. This e-mail from Brent is a totally inappropriate use of our personal email addresses without permission.
Post what you want, on the forum. But sending e-mails about personal positions or politcial stuff, directly to members is so far out of line I was shocked. bill Haas |

Sorry, I was so pissed when I got the e-mail that I didn't count to 10. YOu are most likely right, Brent didn't sent this out. I just hope they figure our how how our e-mail's were hacked and fix that problem

This was most certainly not me....What a pain in the ass!! I just wish people would at the very least respect others time and property....I literally have been working on this since about 11pm last night to get us back in a reasonable spot.
But I obviously need to worry more about attackers such as this. |
I received the e-mail when I turned on the computer this morning. First thing I thought was "WTF?". I have received e-mails from Brent before and pretty much knew right away CC was hacked.
Funny thing is that a while back CW said that this kind of thing "could not happen" on CC. When I mentioned my concern that it could, CW's response basicly called me a "MORON". Not in those actual words though of course and not that he actually was. It was just the way that his response made me feel. A hacked forum with a mass mailing "could" have transfered a virus to my computer. Not saying that it did of course, just noting that it "COULD" happen. |
Brent, thank you for your efforts in restoring CC. I got the E-mail too and was wondering, but figured it out pretty quickly. I don't know you, but I've figured out that CC would never use its E-mail list for political reasons. Again, THANK YOU Great site

Just to refresh your memory, the conversation was in reference to your concern that the new RSS feeds of eBay listings were some type of hack attack and that your own personal system would be in jeopardy.

Thanks Brent for fixing the problem. When I got that email I know we had be hacked. Guess it happens to even the best sites.
