I love that gold look. How would I match something to that?

I thought as a first try I'd just buy the gold wheel paint from a car accessory shop, over here in France when you see the 'boy racers' that have done it, it looks quite a pale gold

I agree with Jeff, pale gold, I'm planning on doing mine like that ( car is guardsman blue), but it only really works with the blue, never seen it on other coloured cars (apart from the hertz)

I like the gold wheel with the blue car.
Several weeks ago I stripped my Trigos to bare metal. I powder coated one of them a pale gold and then hung it on my red car. I left it on the car for a week while trying to decide which way to go. I just didn't care for the look.
Since then I've had the Billboard Goodyears mounted on the bare wheels. Just yesterday I mounted all wheels on the car and went out for my first drive since last October. I think I'll go with the nekkid wheels!

Here are three RustOleum choices:

Thoughts? All of these are satin. I could always shoot flat clear over them.

I'd go for a spray paint specifically for wheels maybe something like this?

How did you strip off the paint? Do you have any photos?

It took about 3 applications Aircraft Paint Remover, some brushing, and I used my 4000 psi pressure washer to reduce the amount of stiff bristle brushing.
I don't have pictures yet, but I will within the next few days.

Easy
Rust Oleum
#7270 Gold Rush Metallic
Pull back on second coat to dull up. Simply scuff, clean with ETOH and start paint. Come on, just tape off what you don't want hit, easy.......
Changed mine from grey to gold in about 30 min, lasted 3 yrs till I sold the car, still perfect from pics I get.
Original cars were mostly hand painted after Dow#7. These cars are simple don't make it harder than it is..........

I think powder coat is better than painting, much more durable, these days most modern powdercoaters bake the wheel at a low enough temp no harm is done to the structure of the metal, its cheap to do also, im sure not as cheap as painting yourself.
