Default Winter Storage

Start it every few weeks to run fuel through the system and oil the top end or let it sit and keep it dry. I have herd both. Just wondering what you guys think and your opinion on both ways of winter storage.

Have found and know from experience let them sit do not start them unless you plan to let them run long enough to boil the water out especially in an unheated building.My procedure for the last 40+yrs with all my stored vehicles.
Full fuel tank
air up tires
change the oil and filter
Use battery tender
check antifreeze (personally test PH and keep it balanced)
Keep vehicle parked so sun cannot shine on them. Helps keep water (condensation) out of things.

That is what i thought. My brother always said that(he just passed feb 21 10) keep them dry, start it up only if you are going to run it. I don't have him to ask any more. This question just reminded me of him.

As I have gotten older I have come up with the ideal winter storage and care of my Cobra.
1. Hook trailer to RV.
2. Load Cobra in trailer.
3. Head for Florida or Arizona.
4. Unload Cobra and drive the he** out of it.

I heard of a new way of thinking about winter storage due to todays unstable fuels.
The old adage of filling the tank may need re-thinking.
The reason for the full tank was the more gas in the tank, the less air.
Less air means less likely to build condensation, AKA water in the gas.
Todays blends have ethanol so its like the dry gas is already in it.
In fact if you add dry gas you will likely need a carb rebuild due to ruining the seals.
I heard that it is best to keep the tank about 1/8 full, but use stabil or sea foam on a full tank prior to running it low and storage.
Now; if the fuel begins to go bad, you can dilute the crap gas by filling it up with fresh gas.
Does this new idea make any sense?
