Contemporary used the jag rear end for the entire run. The front used the jag E-type in the beginning but as supply became scarce they switched to a custom coil over set up. So any way contemporary's had double rear springs.

Looks like an early one
Reminds me of a early Contemporary like I used to have..I had to check carefully on frame behind spindle on drivers side, had to use sandpaper to locate the FOUR numbers stamped on the frame... Hard to find but they are there.

I can't tell for sure but it looks like a contemporary to me, Since you don't Know who to contact I just wanted to let you Know that we at B&B can make you either a front fender section or a complete front clip if can't find a source, I know some of the MFG's don't sell just section like we do they will only sell a complete body, so Just wanted to let you Know we can help if you need fiberglass. *B&B Manufacturing - :::: - Feel the Thunder - :::: - Hotrods from Kit to Turn Key - ::::

You said "front brake". Do you mean the front brakes were grabbing or just one side of the front brakes? That could make a huge difference. Another thought...if it has an old style master set-up for drum brakes, could it have a residual valve in the master causing the rear to stay slightly engaged and overheat? This was a problem with my car when I first got it. I took the master apart, removed the residual valve, and the rear brakes worked fine after that. My car has a MG front suspension with Wilwood calipers and a Jag rear. |
