Solid roller lifters

Giday I run a solid roller cam in my 408 ,not radical, but still worry 'bout all the negative comments re solid rollers on street motors.I don't run a windage tray so I suppose that is a plus.Anyway I see Comp,Isky & Lunati are now all making pressure fed solid roller lifters. Are any of you running them yet.Would be interested in Keiths opinion for street motors. Thanks Greg

Pressure fed lifters have been around for probably 8-10 years now. I wouldn't run a solid roller without them.

I think Comp rated their non-oiling lifters to have a life of around 3500 miles. They extended the rating of their oiled lifters to 7500-10000 miles.

There are a lot of factors that go into how long a lifter will live....spring pressure, cam lobe aggressiveness, valve lash, etc.

Solid rollers are fun and they're my preferred cam for a fun street car....but you have to play your cards right with them.

Solids have been around literally forever.Keeping them adjusted properly is half the battle. In my near 50 yrs of running them never once had an issue with a solid lifter or camshaft.Putting together an SB2 with seat pressure of 240# open 630# using EZ-Roll Isky's

Crower is my solid roller lifter of choice. I spent one winter calling the different companies, and after talking to Crower they were heads above everyone else. Every company I talked to told me I couldn't run the spring pressure I was using. Crower said if you're happy with the springs you have now, keep using them, also you won't have to worry about rebuilding lifters like the other companies. This is my second motor with Crower and no problems and plenty of 8000 rpm shifts later.
