FFR roadster and GTM accident at Carlisle
Does anyone know why the roadster started in gear and plowed into it's own GTM on Display at the Carlisle Import and kit car show on Sunday?From what I heard from people there,someone from FFR started the roadster,while in gear,peeled rubber and smashed into their yellow GTM and totaled it almost hitting another display car of another manufacturer across the way in the building and someone standing behind the GTM.Man,he must have moved real quick.Could it have been that their was no safety switch? Any ideas?Thank God noone was hurt.

Another example of why a neutral safety switch is a good idea. The person driving likely has lots of experience, but was tired, or terribly distracted. Anyone snap a photo?

So three cars were wrecked with a GTM totaled and somebody was injured? I don't see anything about on any car sites except what you posted. Any more details?

We (Ohio Cobra Club - our raffle car was in the same building) had someone there until 3pm and didn't hear anything about such an incidence. The story doesn't add up either since the roadster was pointing out from the wall and was at the opposite end of the booth from the GTM. I call BS.

We then grabbed a burger, looked at a couple of Cobra replicas outside and came back (ERA was in the in the same building and was our focus). We were gone no more than 45 minutes. FFR had cleared out during that time and was in the process of loading cars. If something did happen, they sure cleared it up quickly...also, as the previous post indicated, the cars were backed up to the wall at a 30 degree angle or so and all pointed in the same direction. There were cars across the aisle, but I don't think those were FFR cars. It would be more likely that one of those hit the GTM, but then the story still doesn't make sense since it said an FFR employee started a Roadster. Lastly, we were hanging around with the ERA guys and a couple of customers while they loaded for home and nobody said anything.

My car was in the building and I was loading it in my trailer at the same time FF was taking down their display. I saw or heard nothing and they were loading their cars without any panic or shouting. I too am calling BS on this. It was a good show.

Hey CW,evidently you where not there.The marks where as black as can be.The 33 roadster was facing the GTM.The GTM was pushed back from the position it was in when the band was playing.So,all this BS about angles is bunk.The marks clearly show that when the roadster peeled out it was not in a straight line.The floor is smooth concrete .Look at the FFR pics and see that the 33 was facing the GTM.They pushed it out for the band then back after it was done.It was almost at a 90degree angle to each other.Think what you want.I only started this thread for an answer to a question.I didn't know that no-one knew.To answer your question CW,it came from onlookers when they saw me going to my car where the GTM stopped in front of.This thread , there are too many know it alls ,investigators,"I SAW nuttin" people out there.At least I saw the tire marks and that's that.The truth will come out from FFR by the time I'm done.I'm no lier.Parden the spelling.

There's a saying here, "no pictures, didn't happen". In this day of cell phone cameras, tablet computers and the like, I can't believe there isn't a picture of this somewhere. Or at least pictures of the infamous skid marks.

MRMUSTANG.Unless I am the the receiver of an enormous JOKE?Would they go as far as people telling me what happened and marked up the floor with black burned rubber.Could they go that far?I certainly don't have any agenda>I posted this on FFR also as .Do you really think they want to let something out like thisI don't think so.
