Give the search function on CC a shot. Unfortunately not too many options in the 15" size. Avons, GY Billboards, Mickey Thompson, and Firestone. Cooper also makes a tire.

There's nothing comparable to the RAs in 15 inch. There's Avons, but very high priced. Other tire options will not touch the performance of the
RAs, at least not in the correct size. If your thinking 17s, consider 18s. A lot more options available on 18s.

The visual of 18"s on a Cobra gives me vertigo. 17" are bad enough. But that's just me. In 15" performance tires there are three choices: Avons, Avons, or Avons.

18s with black centers look good IMHO. 18s with polished centers are a bit too much. Avons are very good, I've run them, but pale in comparison to the latest R compound tires. Amazing grip and responsiveness.

I'm in the process to make stencils - like the picture below. Just with the addition on the opposite side reading CR6ZZ.

Picture is from the GT forum (thanks guys) Painting Avon CR6ZZ - GT40s.com

Stencil is done, waiting for ordered tire paint to come in...

if you don't have 15's, for the love of god don't go out a buy some ....

15's = yuk, too much sidewall
17's = very nice
18's = exceptionally nice, great tire selection

why go with 60's tech in wheels when your replica has very little 60's tech elsewhere, it's only a copy of a 60's roadster using the latest tech at the time it was built. if the body style is close, and they all are, mission accomplished - go high tech everywhere else, it's already a forgery

Sorry, you could not give me 17's or 18's.

I will keep my 15's thank you very much.

I'll answer that with your own quote:

Agree, I went 18's for that reason, you also get a little more contact patch with the larger diameter. Need to make sure your cobra can handle the increased size - wheel well, suspension travel, backspacing etc.

Effective spring rate increases when moving from 15s to 18s and the handling difference is night and day.

I'm running BF Goodrich Drag Radials. They're much better than the T/As. I just never drive if there's any chance of rain!

Leave the BF/TAs for your custom Chevy van with the waterbed. They were rediculously hard and bad on my old SPF.

Billboards have the look and they're much better.

BUT, The Avons win hands down.

I bought mine from this place in Portland. Same price as Kraus Racing, but no shipping.

Contact Trackside Motorports | A-n-T Tire & Wheel | Portland, Oregon

From what I remember they could also get the Goodyear BB's or G7's.
