Carmel By the Sea tonight
There was quite a line up of originals huddled together to fend off the cool breeze.

Some old race teams cast off truck. Couple of Cobra derelicts holding each other up or off the truck.

I think there was about 15 cars. Neat little 9 with Joseph flares.

Another sweet lil 9
I was quite besotted with a Lazzarini flattie Ford powered steel body.

Lotsa prancin ponies and really interesting cars everywhere. This week is gonna be overload! Long day, more pics tomorrow.

Hey Nick, I didn't realize that you were going to be there. I thought you were only landing/arriving in the area today.
I spent the whole day at the show, while the girls went shopping. I'm surprised I didn't bump into you. I met several Cobra guys there, including some fellow SPF owners from the Bay area, as well as Mark from Philadelphia (still waiting on his CSX8000 series), David Wagner and CobraNed.
They had a nice collection of Cobras at Carmel: CSX2100, CSX2178, CSX2252, CSX2253, CSX2367, CSX2387, CSX2393 (driven all the way from Minnesota), CSX2472 (a Dragon Snake), CSX2543, CSX3142, CSX3232 and CSX3345. They also had a couple of Cobra "bookends": an AC Ace-Bristol and an AC 428 Frua. Not to mention the Cobra team transporter.
I've taken lots of pics, but haven't uploaded them yet. I'm off to visit Canepa Design today.

Nick - Great pics. That restored transporter is amazing.
Sundude - You'll really enjoy Canepa. Make sure you go upstairs to see Bruce's car collection. There's also a door that leads out to a catwalk so you can see the shop. Not sure what time you're heading back to Monterey, but traffic Southbound on 1 slows to a crawl from Santa Cruz to Seascape after 3:00 pm.

Doug, thanks for the tip. I'm heading out the door right now.
As it happens we're staying in Santa Cruz at a little vacation rental on 9th Avenue, just steps from the beach. We're gonna check out the boardwalk later this afternoon.

Sundude,
Great to hear you found a nice vacation rental in Santa Cruz. Have fun at the Boardwalk. Riva on the on the Santa Cruz wharf has good food and is casual/inexpensive. Great views as well.

and the guy next to him is Steve Sunshine. You just never know who you're gonna run into on the other coast. Closed the place today at Canepa, Bonhams viewing earlier today. Rally cars running around the peninsular, great stuff everywhere.

I'm trying but It's not looking good at this point. I have something for you and I'm trying to figure how to get it too you. I may have to mail it to you and you'll have to wait till you get home. Maybe I'll post pix to tease.
