Rick, weather looks rain for sure on Saturday and slight chance on Sunday. I'll be driving up just for the day on Sunday and get there early, around 9. I guess tickets will be at the main gate, but will I be able to get into the paddock area with the Cobra? Also, I imagine shorts will be OK and there won't be a helmet requirement for the parade laps.

Paddock is open at the vintage races, only hot pits need credentials. No helmets required for parade laps.

Today is Beautiful at WG.
What a Blast

Hey JB, it was a pleasure meeting you today. I remember seeing you at SAAC-37, you were busy helping a fellow Club Cobra member with a dead MSD. Good times today too, huh! A few sprinkles at the most. It was cool taking the Cobra out on the track for a few parade laps. I was surprised, the pace car took off every now and then so you could lean on it a bit. I'll post a couple pics in my gallery.

MGlad 09-09-2012 08:11 PM

Help! I on the Gallery Image Upload page and I can't find the browser button to select to pictures I want to upload... hmmmmmm.

Hi, Mike. It looked like everyone had a good time out on the track!

I have a couple of photos of the SPF laps that I took from turn 11. Right now they are only posted on my FB page - you should be able to view them of you look for my profile on FB.

I will try to post them here tomorrow if I get a chance.
Happy to see you could make it!

Hey Rick, nice pictures! I got a bunch of pictures from out on the track, I'll send them to you. I still can't find the "browse" button on the upload photos page to post them on my gallery here.

Here you go, Mike!
There are some more photos in my SPF WGI album here on Club Cobra, and you can also view and save them in a larger format.
Just a spectator this year. Hopefully I will be back with old #887 next year!

I followed Dennis around driving a GT350 clone and I had a hard time keeping up in the corners. I told him after "wow, you were motoring through the corners!" and he replied (proper South African accent) "Naw, just touring with the kids"

Hi, Mike
I had the grandkids (3 year old twins) with me on Sunday, so I was pretty busy with them. They have racing in their blood from both sides of the family - should be interesting in a couple of years :-)

I saw your car parked in Olthoff's pit at the Time Machines display. Nice!!! I like the green. My son took a couple of nice shots of your car and the others while they were parked. If you want copies, let me know and I will post them here for you.

Maybe next year!
Jim

Mark IV 09-11-2012 08:11 AM

A big thank you to Jim for his help in arranging the laps. He had to boogie to the track after his pastor duties on Sunday.

I was happy to give his son a ride in the GT350 clone.
