Default Shelby American Collection annual party

Last Saturday was the annual party. It was great event. There were lots of original Cobras, mostly street cars from private parties, since the museum has so may of the racers. Among them was CSX2052, which I've described here in the past - Otto (now Peter) Werlin's seasonal driver and my inspiration for driving the snot out of both my Cobra and now my Ford GT.

I've posted the story on several forums but the Team Shelby is probably the best, so go here for the "book" - pictures with narrative:

Shelby American Collection annual fundraiser - Team Shelby

But the question for this forum is about this poster:

Does anyone know more about this poster/photo? When/where, and most importantly, WHO?

I'm not sure this is the poster, as it's been a long time. I was up in Vacaville checking out a 428, and knew that another CC member lived up there so I contacted him. His handle was 'Turk', and he had an aluminum Cobra he was working on. On his garage wall was a poster of a woman splayed across a Cobra, and he explained that was his previous Cobra, an ERA 289 FIA in which he squeezed in a 427 side-oiler.

Quite honestly, I don't remember if this is the exact poster, but but I do remember a woman seductively, uh, spread out on the front of a Cobra.

Anyone remember Turk? I haven't seen anything posted by him on CC for years.

Anyone know if his ERA was red? I don't know who the model is on this poster.

Cheers,
DD

He hangs out over at the "Gasholes" forum.

DD - your memory is starting to fail you, my friend -

Before he bought his Kirkham Cobra, Turk had a beautifully detailed Blue ERA 427 Cobra replica (a friend of mine in Ohio bought it from him, less the engine, which Turk saved for his Kirkham). AFIK, Turk has never had an FIA model.

WRT the posters, you are probably talking about posters done by Bill and Bud Jones out of VA, who had a series of posters done with their Red 427 Cobra, CSX3102. They hired a really hot model to crawl all over their Cobra, similar to the vintage Cobra poster with the girl in front of a Red FIA Cobra in the CobraCobra t-shirt.

Turk moved from Vacaville to FL several years ago. Guess that since I am now in FL, I ought to look him up and say "Hello".

regards,

Jeff

This poster was not done by the Jones brothers. This was produced and sold at the Shelby Collection in 1997, perhaps a little earlier than that, titled the Snake Pit. That is CSX2430 in the background.
