Very nice color, good luck with the sale.

saturnkk 12-21-2012 04:28 PM

Whattaya think it will go for?!?

dcdoug 12-21-2012 04:58 PM

My guess is $80-$90k.

twobjshelbys 12-21-2012 05:16 PM

Great color! Good Luck! It's good to see you back in the B J auctions.

Tutosnake 12-21-2012 06:03 PM

$80-90K? Well, it would become the deal of the century, considering the ROLLER is $80K (plus options)... oh well, good thing I bought my car to drive the *&Y^ out of it, and not as an investment:MECOOL:
I would have guessed $100-110K for the elimination of the waiting period factor... I guess it depends, as always, on who is (if anybody) in the market for one.
Good luck!

dcdoug 12-21-2012 08:50 PM

It will be interesting to see what the increase in the price of the roller brings for a complete car at auction. Not many have gone over $100k in the recent past, but maybe that will change with the price increase and market improving. Stephen does a nice job with his cars and I'd love to see it go for a lot more.

Bill Malone's 4786 was one of the finest and it had an original Cammer. It sold for $110,000.

I'd be surprised, if it crested anywhere near Bill's.

I hate to say it, but I'd have to agree. And if Congress is still dealing with the Fiscal Cliff issues around BJ time, you can bet the farm that BJ will be Bargainville.

Nice car, Stephen. I hope you do well.

Loaded question, especially for a Barrett Jackson auction. The only real response is going to be "that depends on just "WHO" is really bidding on it.

I'll leave it at that.

Way to take all the fun out of guessing! ;-P

Bartruff1 12-22-2012 07:54 AM

That is a muscle car auction...

And you have to factor in the buyers/sellers juice...so...I will be surprised if it can get to a bid price of 90k..... but if you have two people that want it ....great car..beautiful color... good luck..

stephen_becker 12-22-2012 09:33 AM

Thanks to all for the well-wishes on the auction -

Merry Christmas!

Monterey is the LAST PLACE to sell a continuation car - Trust me - I know - I have brought them out there and lost!

:(

Bill's car was/is amazing and I am sure he wishes he would have pulled that very very rare and expensive motor, out of the car, and just sold the motor without the car - i feel the motor would have brought big $$$$ and the car, as a used roller, would have done very well, as well.

:)

Nedsel 12-22-2012 10:50 AM

Hey, look on the bright side. Maybe the guy from Australia who bought the 4000-series car for big bucks, thinking it was a legit 60's S/C, and then had it stolen out of his garage one night (huh??) will be at B-J looking to replace it. And, if you keep on telling him it's a "1965 Shelby Cobra" maybe magic will strike twice, and you'll get $700-800 large for it. Well, it COULD happen...

mickmate 12-22-2012 11:16 AM

Hey Stephen I would have them correct the 472 motor size. Those are the numbers to have in correct order for searches.

stephen_becker 12-22-2012 11:59 AM

Will do - Thank you for the heads-up

Cheers!

Al G 12-22-2012 02:54 PM

The description says "The new owner will be the first private owner." The Montana tags indicate someone already titled and registered it. Was that not a private owner?

stephen_becker 12-22-2012 03:25 PM

Nope - selling dealer (me) did - so cars new owner will be 1st private owner

That would be a steal. The motor alone has got to be every bit of $25k not to mention other bits and labor of fit out.

I personally think cammer CSXs are not as desirable as an accurately fitted out CSXs that are aesthetically correct and accurate. Certainly not to me.
