Question Csx 3116

CSX 3116 Was the AC that started it all for me as a AC Cobra fan! My 1st ride in that beast @ 14 hooked me for life. ?? Does any one know of it whereabouts; owner? Does she still exist? CSX 3116 was a 1966 427 street version; old english white w/ black interior. the last owner I knew was Dr. W. Hancock, passed (10+ yrs.) now, RIP. Any news would be appreciated. I'll try the Shelby registry, but thought I'd ask here as well.
Thanks,

The car was in northern CA about 9 years ago; may still be there.

Thats a long way from Memphis where csx 3116 was the absolute terror of a very large racing street scene in the early 70's. I do hope she is still romping the streets somewhere. Thanks for info.

It is because of the car's history that it is no longer in Memphis. Hancock was advised by the police they were going to haul his son Steve in for numerous speeding, drag racing, and other moving violations in the Cobra. He wisely chose to sell the car.

Sounds like mabe you knew Doc? Stevie & I were best friends & yes the cops did stop chasing us & just wait for us to come back home more than once. But that happened with Doc's other AC's as well the 260 & the 289 also. Not to mention the GT's romps But we were kids, driving in rides even today; most people only dream of! I remember when Doc moved from Memphis years later. He took most of his rides (20+) with him. Steve bought the 260 AC csx 2058 & the 67 GT-500 (motherbear) with the sideoiler. & stayed in Memphis. Steve has since moved to East Tn. close to the Dragon! Myself, I now live in the Berwicks of Maine. Steve & I still talk cars, & I hope to take my sideoiler down to East Tn. & drive the Dragon!! Mabe this comming fall. Again thanks for the info on 3116.
