Idaho,
Welcome.
1. What do you want to do with it (e.g., weekend cruising, car shows, track days, drag racing, etc.)?
2. Do you want a ready-to-drive car, or one that needs to be assembled/finished?
3. Can/will you do your own maintenance?
4. What is most important to you, price, authenticity, resale value, street performance, track performance, dual roll bars, color, etc.?
5. How much previous experience do you have driving high performance cars?

Hi Idaho! If you are in Idaho contact Wayne at Gear 6 Performance in Boise. He is a Superformance dealer but will give you honest opinions on all makes. He can also refer you to owners of most of the major brands that are Idaho cars for you to look at and ask questions.

Thumbs up

There are some very nice ERA's in the for sale section of this site right now. Hard to go wrong with a ERA! Most are factory rollers; some are factory built!

WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION! THERE IS NO CURE!!

I gather from your name that you're in Idaho? If so, Kirkham Motorsports open house is this weekend in Provo, Utah. Great opportunity to see a great replica from all angles and, pending decent weather, go for a ride.

There are many great Cobra replicas out there, but be sure to give Superformance a close look. I've never regretted my choice to buy one.

Idaho,
Based on your answers, most of the well known marques can fill your bill. But know that the overall quality of some (e.g., Factory Five) is largely determined by the builder, while others (e.g., Superformance) are mostly factory built and of more consistently high quality. Your best value will be to buy a used car that suits your taste and budget. But be sure and have someone who knows hotrod type cars inspect it. Most conventional mechanics are not trained to evaluate Cobra replicas. .... Lastly, I give you the same advice I give every Cobra newby. These are replicas of 1960 era race cars and don't behave like standard cars. They will kill you in an instant if you overestimate your own skills. Plan now to spend some time and money getting to know your own and your car's limits in a safe environment. A high performance driving course and/or SCCA autocross is a great way to learn. Good luck.

What Tommy said 2X!! These cars are to be taken seriously and WILL hurt you! Lots of guys from back in the the day that were driving the Chevelles, Novas or Mustangs have always dreamed of having a Cobra. Then, they finally get one and try to drive it like their old "memory car". Big mistake.
Crawl first, then learn to walk, then maybe run. My two cents...
