OK. What's the trick?
How do I get the paper/adhesive film off the acrylic windwings and sunvisors I bought a couple of years ago?
The protective paper is coming off in shreds. It will take me hours to get it all off. And I risk fingernail scratching them.
And what works best to get the adhesive residue off? Window cleaner?

2: Goof Off or silicone spray for the adhesive removal

My acrylic/polycarbonate fab guy at work uses silicone spray.
Considering time is money, I'm hoping that's the best solution

Greg - I went through this a few months ago as my windshield and windwings/sunvisors had been sitting up in my attic for 3 years. The paper was fossilized on to them. I finally resorted to Acetone and it took it off. I tried about everything else, WD-40, Dupont PrepSol, Lacquer Thinner, window clearner, etc, without luck.
However, my visors did have some wierd effect like a slight delamination of a laminated windshield. I think it was from the paper having fossilized on them. I tried polish on them but it didn't really seem to be on the surface. Since they are tinted it's very difficult to see.
The Acetone didn't hurt mine but if you try it I think I would try a bit on a corner just to make sure it doesn't affect yours.

Let them soak in a tub of soapy water for a couple of days. The paper will turn to "goo" and come off with your fingers.

Hopefully Greg's aren't as bad as mine were - but on mine there were two problems. First problem was getting the paper off. Second problem was getting the adhesive remnants off.
Getting the paper off was not extremely difficult - nearly anything left to soak on it long enough would allow it to be scrapped off finally. But getting the fossilized adhesive off was a major issue.

Mine were on the shelf for at least 18 years. Same problem as yours. Goo done worked like magic on the adhesive.
