Shelby Ken Miles Comp Seat

Back by popular (at least I think so) demand. The alloy version of the comp seat is back. For those of you who were not around for the first run of few made, I currently have a bunch in production.
Originally, the seat was to be an addition to a "Ken Miles" project that I was trying to work out with Shelby. As most of you know, the project became a battle and never happened. The few seats that were made at the time have been highly touted because of my plan to build a "Safer" (oxymoron) clone of the fiberglass seat that could come apart in an accident.
Delivery will still be slow as they are all hand made but, for those who want one, I think you will all be happy.
I had a great conversation with Richard M. last night who has the seat in his car. As a living legend, racer and former owner of CSX 3018, his accolades on how true to form the alloy seat is, was great to hear.
For those of you who would like to contact me directly, my cell phone number remains the same since its invention.

They use to cost I think $599, and came with a certificant of authenticity, and a tag with Ken Miles name and a serial number on it, am I wrong???? Or did the price jump to $695 for non CC members???? I WANT ONE, LOVE IT.....

CSX 4027 03-20-2013 11:22 AM

The first few were $595 back in 2003 then were $695. 2013 price is $795

All can e-mail to csx4027@comcast.net

Unfortunately, the comp seat requires being able to work with tools and a welder, which is WELL beyond my ability. I would love to have one, but there's no way I could install it.

It's a first class seat! I own seat #14 and yes, it does have a tag/serial number on the back.

VERY very cool but let me know when you get the Ken Miles Goggles! I would love to wear those when I am cruising around.

Construction of the seat is beyond excellent. I don't think you will find anything out there with welds so nice! The seat is very comfortable and being custom fitted it has encouraged me to not get so fat I cant fit in the car!

If anyone is interested in seeing more images of the seat and the bracket I made to mount it check out my photos area.

While I don't show the upholstery it has a quality fit and finish and looks right with the Shelby American passenger seat.

Ken Miles Seat looks great for the USA Ac Cobra Market but it is illegal if fitted to the Australian built Cobra's.

The seat must meet our ADR3-03 seat rule which stipulates it must be 850mm high and with headrests in case of whip lash in a car accident.

Please the thread ADR3-03 seat rule which covers the topic.

Kirkey seats has alloy seats which is similiar and is available on ebay with seat covers as a option.

I don't have one either but the seat does have an I.D. tag on the back.
