Having owned a Superformance and a Backdraft and driven many others. Not to sound hypocritical but you cant just go on price. The superformance is a much stouter car in my opinion. I compare a supeformance to a Ford F250 and a Backdraft to a F150. Both are great cars but Superformance are heavier duty and with the crappy pot hole laden roads in this country it doesnt hurt.

In addition every part on a superformance was designed for supeformance. The BDR uses a BMW suspension which beleive it or not was designed for a sedan.

The superformance is much closer to original on the interior design, smith gauges, etc.

Bottom line in my opinion if both cars are identicle equipped with the same powertrain the superformance is worth $10K more new than a bdr and $7500 more than a BDR used.

As far as warranties they are both (SPF and BDR) fking useless unless you dealer is two miles away. Anytime you have a problem it a shipping and waiting game.

As I have said in the past all cobras are junk, my new BDR had 18 problems I fixed, the new SPF had 15. Neither could compare to the reliabilty of a 1994 Mazda Miata with 120K miles, oh, the Miata has AC also.

As far as Kirkham, I will tell you after I own one but I tend to beleive the jump in quality i experined going to a SPF wont be as great as going from a spf to a Kirkham. In the end they can only get so good.

Both SPF and BDR had cheap flimsy headlight bezels, trim rings, etc. Those are easily replaced though.

My SPF only had one problem the speedo broke and Lance shipped me a new speedo, other than that I drove the crap out of it with zero failures, I did upgrade a few parts but that was for performance...

Time to buy a Tesla. :D

Actually I bought a 2007 miata with the power retractable hardtop. Nifty little car with ac and the top is incredible. $12k. Problem is zero zero torque and hp needs another 200hp. No sweat I will list for $14,800 and sell for $13,500 this fall or when I find next Cobra. Sweet ride, zero vibration, very tossible, but zero testosterone and if I didn't say it before zero power. But the retractable roof is sooooooooooooooo coooooooooool

I'd shake the Magic 8-ball one more time to recheck the Miata's selling price.

While we're on the topic of predicting the future, what does the Magic 8-ball say about the stock market for the rest of the year? How about the crop report? Should I invest in Florida frozen OJ?

Learn from me!!!! What sets my miata apart from everyone else's or 75% it has the power retractable roof!!!!! Haven't found a standard for less than 15k except the one I bought  Cobra had fully polished engine. As far as the market, made my money on apple got out at 659. Kinda sitting on the sidelines not wanting to loose what I made, prob is the 50% I have in the market has made more than I will make at work this year:cool: Guess I need a different job **)

I'm kind of bullish... particularly with so much money that's been printed... it has to go somewhere... But that said its all relative.

Yes the numbers will seemingly rise (b/c of recent Q.E.), but my guess is they will be "worth" relatively the same (ie: purchase power will be roughly the same). At least you wont be losing... :o

PM sent for more info on Frozen OJ... ;)

Wow, that was also a smoking deal!!!!!!!!!! I would have bought if I would have seen it. Excellent catch. I have bought cars off ebay, just do your due diligence. I bought a BDR for 28K delivered to Houston, drove it for a couple years and sold for $37,500. Left money on the table because the guy I sold it to drove it a couple years and sold it for $37500. Talk about win win.

I know the guy that bought my last spf will make money, it sold in 17 hrs with back up offers. I made some he will make some and the party continues.

I will say this when I sell a car it is as perfect and sorted as anyone could ever make it. I have three hobbies, drinking, sex, piddling on mechanical stuff, cars, boats. With my cars and boats I pay for the hobby. If I charged for my labor of sorting I would be upside down $20K:LOL:

Never drank a bottle of whiskey that did not meet expectations, sex well I am blushing:p
