Guess that Cobra Game!!!

In the 1980's I could usually identify most of the racing and more famous cobras. Today most likely I would be unable to unless in original condition. I had trouble posting pics but found a way around that.

So guys post pictures of famous Cobras that can be identified. Whether in a movie, poster, book...from anywhere and see if it can be identified by anyone. Post a picture of the cobra from Ironman if you want.

I will start off with an eeeeeeeeasy one. Is it a 2000 or 3000 series or replica, kit, continuation..... but it is a well known cobra.

Ok I guess that no body else wants to post pictures of a Cobra. So I'll post two or three more.

Ok here is a two for Thursday picture for anyone to guess. This is easier than the first one! This is for my old racing buddy Cozy Powell who is no longer with us, a better friend you could not have!

I also added a few more pics of the flip-top(aka turd) on the flicker account.

Extra credit for the third red racer behind the ropes.

Is that CSX3020 in the foreground with CSX3035 in the background? And a Maserati Type 61 "Birdcage" behind the rope?

I'll guess it's Maserati Tipo 61 Chassis #2467 8-)

The other two should be pretty easy. ;)

Ok some of you guys know too much. lol This "authentic" "original"(sorry my other thread was closed on csx 2000 & 3000 eyes only) 1960's 427 Cobra is an S/C model. It's serial number is listed at least once on this site(maybe twice), mentioned on SAAC site I'm told and is listed in any comprehensive book done on 427 Cobra's. Maybe not famous like others but it has its own reason for being historical. One of my own personal favorite color combo's on a cobra black with silver.

By the way has anyone ever done a black cobra with polished alum. as the stripes?

There are two additional pics on flicker of this one. I give up if anyone knows this one!

SunDude 06-27-2013 12:00 PM

Based on the NY plate CSX3045 pops immediately to mind, but admittedly that's a bit of a wild-a$$ed guess.

After consulting the registry, I change my vote to CSX3053.

What does the current registry have to say about CSX 3053? You cheated.

Is this suppose to be the same cobra?

CSX 3053

It said that CSX3053 was purchased by Stuart H. of NYC in the mid 1970s, then repainted black with silver stripes (from red). When the car was offered for sale in Aug 1976, it had chrome roll bar and side pipes and Halibrand wheels. That sounds like the car in your photos.

Apparently 3053 was repainted red w/white roundels in the mid 1990s when it was restored by Cobra Automotive.

Did I cheat...? I dunno. I've never seen the car in person, so had to turn to my books for the answer.

I only have the original registry not a current one. Well I side stepped my own rules sort of. I think it is famous because it is the last numbered S/C and mentioned generically in books as in CSX 3001-3053. I don't know what it was but that Cobra always stood to me.

Peace

Ok since no one else wants to post this is my last one. lol Not exactly a Cobra but has some DNA from Shelby certainly. This racer has been around the show circuit and is certainly a winner, ut we all know Ken Miles should have won that race! Can't post a good picture today because it would give it away. Picture taken in a museum.

Since this one is so easy, I'm only going to give a close up of a dead give away.

I'm impressed! It is indeed 2142. One of my personal favorite originals.

Glad someone else posted!

OnyxRider 07-02-2013 01:20 PM

I think I remember which one this is. It was raced originally and had it's ups and downs.
Don't go crazy looking into this one. It was raced in this color I believe.
