I have been corresponding with a gentleman from Norway that wants to buy my car. There is a bit of a language barrier and I am having trouble with the government requirements to import the car into Norway. Is there anyone out there that has knowledge of the import laws? Or anyone that can point me to a reference for them? Any help would be appreciated.

I've noticed a lot of hot rodders from Norway posting on the H.A.M.B. Here's a thread where a member with the screen name "Leaded" says he's imported a number of cars from the U.S. into Norway. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...=norway&page=2 Might be worth joining up and sending him a PM. Of course the regulations for assembled cars might be different than those for antiques and classics.

Good luck with your sale. I've owned my two Healeys for 36 and 28 years. It will be tough to give them up when it's time.

Well the day I have been dreading has finally arrived! The "Red Headed Mistress" was loaded on a car hauler this morning and is headed for a port on the East Coast. She has been purchased by a Cobra enthusiast from France. My wife says that the French do know how to take good care of their mistresses so I should be happy. Seriously though the gentleman who bought my car has owned several 289 FIA cars and presently owns a Backdraft, so I think that the car is in good hands. He seems to appreciate the cars history. I truly wish that she could have stayed in the USA but it was not meant to be. She will now start a new chapter in her history in Europe.

I now know how many of you have felt watching your cars go down the road to new owners. Truly a sad day for me.
