hydramatic and jmimac. Just look at the last sentence in the e-mail and explain what "access will be removed" means. Access to what? My large avatar or extra memory? I'm curious as to why none of the moderators has jumped in to clarify this.

All you are going to lose if you don't renew your gold member status is:

Large Avatar
200mb Space in Gallery
More Private Message Storage

If you just READ what I posted above you have your answer. I honestly think you need to take a "chill pill" and stop reading too much into things. If you don't want the little gold star next to your name, then don't donate. No harm done.

It amazes me that you are upset at people who run a FREE site that provide us with a wealth of information to assist the Cobra community at large. The amount of effort to keep this running smoothly without spambots ruining it is huge. I can assure you that it is no easy task.

Well put. The benefits of this site are well worth the contribution. The information exchange, ability to ask questions and get multiple answers, points of view that you wouldn't have thought of on your own, help with troubleshooting problems, a way to meet others with similar interests and, of course, the entertainment value

I would encourage everyone to consider pitching in.

Heavy handed? Really? And you own a Cobra? Everyone is so bloody sensitive these days. There is nothing heavy handed in that statement. It's a simple reminder that states the facts. It's starts with Dear and ends with All the best. Let me fix the middle for you.

Dear 55312,

May we kindly bring to your attention that your access to the paid subscription "Club Cobra Gold Star Contributor" is about to expire? We know you are very busy, but if you could just find the time to look into this matter, we sure would appreciate it.

By the way, if you have selected a recurring subscription you will be automatically billed for the renewal, else to renew this subscription you should visit http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/payments.php. Isn't that a nice convenience?

Please also note (and we really regret doing this, but we don't know a better way of handling this sticky matter), if you do not extend your subscription, we're really sorry, but we will have to delete your access.

We truly appreciate all you've done for us. We hope none of this inconveniences you. You're the best.

All the best,
Your humble servants at Club Cobra
