Who makes the best carbon fiber bodies available?

Thanks in advance for your replies. I'd appreciate any referrals and advice. I'd like to find a quality satin carbon fiber body.

I guess I also need advice regarding a high quality chassis to compliment the money spent on the body.

I tried searching the internet, but didn't find much and, I'm sure you guys know best.

So any websites, emails, and/or advice is greatly appreciated.

"Double Ugly" has a drop dead goregous "Exact" carbon fiber Cobra for sale. Take a look over on the AZ Cobra's site. He's wanting to take it to an auction at Newport Beach next month since he didn't get what he wanted at Russo and Steele last month. You'd be hard pressed to replicate his car for what he's asking, and it might be a deal in the waiting.

Double Ugly is the owner of the exact carbon fiber cobra.

Ah thought we had another Gruff pilot from the Navy. Guess Air Force is close.

I believe that GSHARPA on this site has/had one too. Amazing to me that the entire body could only weigh about 45lbs, so I have heard anyways...

Mine weighed 39 pounds: body, trunk lid, hood and doors. For the OP, you can try to get hold of Brian Bumgarner 816-309-1930 he made mine.

JohnC, find the "Exact ...Russo and Steel....Newport" thread, open it and click on DoubleUgly and you'll be able to send him a personal message or an eMail. Also if you click on the camera icon under his moniker, you'll see lots of pictures.

Ok, thanks. I'll have to think about that one.

Does anyone sell a satin finish carbon fiber body? I may like to leave it unpainted...

Thanks!

Exact, Roger B, good luck getting one, he doesn't make many in which they are handcrafted to master craftman specs...

You can look at pics of my Exact (carbon fiber cobra) in my gallery, as the quality is fantastic.....

Does "Exact Cobras" have a website? email? phone number? Is this Roger Bollick's company?

Do they sell raw satin carbon fiber bodies? any pics?

I think the other I've read about was Brian Bumgarner of Missouri (816-309-1930)? How do they compare?

Thank you!

fordracing65 02-02-2014 09:55 PM

yes, it is roger bollicks company...

What are the advantages of a carbon fiber body other than the obvious.

The claim is that it's stronger and lighter than fiberglass.

gsharapa 02-03-2014 02:06 PM

No website for Exact. The last time I talked to Roger he was focusing his efforts and developing more Cobra parts. He builds some pretty cool stuff like the 4 bolt motor mounts, roll bar cross bar, 1 piece shifter for TKO600 etc that are on my car. He planned to develop a website similar to Nick Action as all his parts will fit an original CSX car and Kirkham. He has 1 car that is in raw carbon fiber (not painted) about 85% done and has a FE in it, but I believe that is his car to keep. I'm told that he has 1 more body and frame but do not know that for sure. He has been talking about doing more cars over the last few years but lately he has been focused on some TR6s and other projects. He actually built 11Cobras.

Just don't bang it up. It doesn't fix like fiberglass! Quite a process.

hectorturer 02-03-2014 06:28 PM

An to repair the carbon fiber? It will be more easy to work with fiberglass
