How many G's would a Cobra pull?
What would the stock, straight axle 9" pull, and a newer model with an IRS, and coilovers?
I'm looking for an approx number as there are too many variables.

No original Cobra came stock with a 9" rear, sorry.
As for the rest, you would need to be quite specific as to what tires, shocks, springs, and suspension set up you were using.

0-60 in 2.5 seconds is about 1G
0-60 in 4 seconds is about .7g's

In theory it would be difficult for any car not running exceptionally sticky tires to pull more than 1.0 g without aerodynamic down force. My Cobra has no down force.

Lol, I was speaking about cornering....
Like I said its a very subjective question as wheels/tires will make lots of difference, and the type of springs, shocks, sway bars, etc.
I was just curious at how well this thing handles corners?
Also, I was speaking about the big block cars..........

Well, for ERA cars... Track testing with stock BF Goodrich Comp TA's has given nearly 1G lateral acceleration and .95G braking performance. In December, 1991, Car and Driver measured 1.05G (lateral) using Hoosier tires. Optional Spax dampers are externally adjustable for both height and damping, allowing the builder to modify the E.R.A. 427SC's ride and handling characteristics to fit personal preference. I have a PI System 2 in my Cobra and have seen 1.3 average cornering and peak of 1.5 with Hoosier A6's it is very hard to get over 1.5 without aero down load.

Laterally maybe 1 G, if it was set up well. Otherwise out of your pocket (?) many 1000's of G's:)

Absolutely on the money. The JBL Comp chassis pulls close to those numbers with the Hoosier DOT R6 compound tires. Note: this is on 245/45/17 front and 315/35/17 rear at Willow during the week (green track).
During a race weekend these numbers will go up a bit to 1.3>5 steady state as the track becomes much stickier.
I have never seen any non-aero car do much better than these numbers on a flat track/corner.
And transient lateral G spikes are just for bragging.

Mine pulled about 25G out of my pocket to build.

The answer is pretty easy for your specific car but harder to answer for a Cobra in general.
To find the answer all you have to do is turn your steering wheel sharply while traveling at the (high) speed you want to evaluate and stand on your throttle. That's all there is to it! Your car will do the rest for you automatically.
Almost forgot, don't forget to turn on the driverside G-meter to get a first hand representation of the event documented. You will be impressed! It will take your breath away - occasionally, depending on how well you handle these sorts of events, a few other things as well.

I might add that mine has continued to pull "G's" for over 25 years :)

Your all right about pulling G's out of pocket. I just pull a few for a hard top, and yes I know the rules....pic's will be comming as soon as I paint it to match the body.

The only thing my car needs besides four gumballs is a race oriented seat with high bolsters for a high lateral g-force. Even without that equipment these cars corner so hard it can hurt if done for a long time.

kart racing we wore rib protectors, you bruise a rib and you're done for a while, they seem to take a while to heal.

Talked to a good friend who has raced Super Modified's for many years he suggested a seat for me and how to let it do it's job, he also scaled my suspension. Was somewhat surprised the secret is to learn to relax in the seat (Do Not Fight the G's) it will wear you out very quickly. Let the seats bolsters and belts hold you so you can focus on driving the car.
