Why is Shelby referred to as Billy Sol Estes in "The Cobra - Ferrari Wars"?
In keeping with the recent "inquiring minds want to know" threads...
So, Billy Sol Estes was a shady businessman in Texas during the '50s and '60s, and was sentenced to prison for his involvement in a mortgage scheme. Why, then, would Shelby be referred to as "Billy Sol Estes" in one of the captions in the documentary "The Cobra - Ferrari Wars" and in other print materials? I believe it was John Morton who mentioned in his recent book that Shelby's nickname was "Billy Sol Estes."
What, if anything, are we to make of this? Was it merely because they were both from Texas? People in NY and CA want to know!
