NewYorkGuy Come on. It's a silly question. On the street, drive the cobra. On a small track Caterham 7. Also it depends on what motor is in both. Alot cheaper to wreck a Caterham 7 than a cobra. Speed feel goes to Caterham. Have one with a double or triple Wankel motor and the cobra doesn't stand a chance. Have seen this many years ago in Northeaster Challenge. Rick L.

For 20K you can experience the Birkin/Caterham for yourself 
Having owned both, the Cobra has a more raw feel, while the Birkin/Caterham is like driving a giant go-cart. Power is more linear in the 7, being powered by a 168hp 2.0L Zetec motor. The Cobra however rides nicer and is more desirable from an owners standpoint.......

I have driven both and in fact sell both.
95% of the people who see the Caterham have no idea what it is, 95% of people know the Cobra.
On track, the Cat hands down. It is a "rat with sneakers on" while the Cobra is more of a broadsword as compared to the the Cat being a fencing foil.
They really don't compare and 99% of the people who buy a Caterham would never give the Cobra a second's consideration. And pretty much the other way around also.

I'm in the latter group. With all due respect to Caterham owners, manufacturers and dealers, the Caterham looks like a cigarette butt on wheels. The Caterham looks like a reject from the Great Gatsby era. |

Drove a Cat 7 with near 620R performance due to mods by the owner at an autocross. Amazing...makes morons look better even when they lose it. Obviously, my ass and gut made it a tight fit, so it would never be an everyday or track choice for me...a minute at a time was even tough.
All round bet is the Cobra.

Hehehe...yup, sat in one of those, but didn't help too much. Probably have to do what I did for the tin can...go to the factory and have one done for me like a good pair of shoes.
I can get into just about anything (stuck in the Kirkham's original GT40 with the doors closed for an hour while everyone was having lunch until computerworks noticed me, and even a Legends car), but getting out can be ugly.

I've met Jamo, owned and driven enough 7's (including my current), I'd say even the SV body will be tight for him (no offense Jamo). I could not imagine him in a regular body Caterham or Birkin.

Bill...none taken. 
I can "get small" for short periods...helped that it had a quick release steering wheel.
It's funny, I thought I could never get into an Atom, and told the guy showing them at the Historics several years ago. Then I heard a familiar voice to my right saying I could...Leno, standing right next to my wife (we were waiting around for Sunshine...the real one, not the McMahon replica) He had just taken delivery on one...I think it was the first one sold to the public. So I tried right then and there. Surprisingly easy ingress/egress.
