The intake is an Edelbrock Victor. For a multiport throttle body setup, it's pretty much the only one to use. It's the standard single plane intake for an FE. This one came from Edelbrock with the injector bungs, for which I had the privilege of paying an extra $300. Robbery. If i had been more resourceful, I would have had the bungs added by a good aluminum welder.
As for hood clearance, that was a bit tricky. The Victor is pretty tall, so I had 1/4" machined off the carb mounting pad right from the get go. The throttle body was from Mass-Flo, but dimensionally, most throttle bodies are pretty similar in height...I've looked at virtually all of them. The air cleaner is 9" in diameter with a 2.75" element. It fits through the cutout in the hood and sits right up in the scoop with about 1/8" to spare. With that little space above, the K&N filter top is probably useless, but I thought it looked good, and maybe it helps. Really, any big block needs a proper 14x4 or 5 air cleaner, but there isn't a cobra in the world that that would fit in. So it's the best I could do.

Incidentally, throttle body injection like FAST-EZ, or MSD Atomic (or multiple others) would allow the use of the typical Edelbrock Performer RPM dual plane manifold, which is considerably lower than the Victor. But I wanted to make it as complicated as humanly possible, short of an 8 stack that is....
