Yup, Yup.

Alternatively, you may want to go on a run and see if you spot anything in the bushes at the local park. You never know what you may find.

I really don't have a dog in this hunt anymore.
Since the original thread ended, I've purchased Trigos, Halis and Vintage Golds. LOL.
I'd be happy to see if Fran's fit Kirkhams' billet pieces. Actually, a good inside diameter at a couple depths would more than likely do the trick. I do know that the Halis are VERY different from the Trigos/Vintages.
I wish Fran well and hope he sells all of 'em. If we could turn back the clock I'd take a set.
And I hope those of 'us' that buy, post and tell all. They look good to me.

Well, that's weird. My first email exchange with him was November 19, 2010. And there are "too many to count" emails from him over the last 4 years.

While you received an email from "Kresscobra" it was NOT sent by Fran but rather by proxy. I have in fact replied to emails for him in the past. All of the current posts on ClubCobra and GT40s.com have been posted on his behalf and NOT by Fran.

And taking deposits is NOT "indisputable proof" that he was financing the production run with deposits. If the run was $75K and he only had 10K in deposits but made the wheels, how is that "financing" the run?

I dispute your "troll" tag. I had previously posted a thread on these wheels on Fran's behalf and watched that thread go sideways. I have only replied to correct or present Fran's position.

Fran just called me and asked if he should have me reply to the comments here. I suggested he not do so and deal with genuinely interested parties via phone. Oh, BTW he has a Kirkham in the basement of his shop so the "will they fit" question will be resolved. Again I suggest those Kirkham owners who are interested contact Fran directly, not via a forum.

Kirk out...........

Well, there you have it.
Now all patrickt needs to do is buy a Kirkham. Then the mags.

Remember, I painted mine last year, as detailed in this lengthy thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/fe-t...elastomer.html and I have to say they look pretty darn spiffy.:MECOOL:

If not a troll, then quote me accurately. Don't pick and choose someone's words. Don't modify my words to create hostility or start an argument. That's the definition of trolling.

As for financing the run, I explained that above. Read it again at your leisure. One, I never said the word "finance" and two, Fran didn't produce a wheel in the last 4 years. Correct? Why? Because he never received a deposit. Correct? What bank account he draws money from or whether he could do it without deposits is/was moot. No wheels were produced, because no deposits were received. That may have changed now, but I don't know that for sure yet.

Have you thought that these mag wheel threads are fine w/o you? IMO, the previous threads go sideways because of you. I call that trolling.

I know Fran has personally responded to my emails in the past, because we've talked immediately after we've exchanged emails.

Please stop trolling this thread. It's fine w/o you.

They look no different to me than the way they came from Trigo. No difference.

No.

First the outer rim looks like polished aluminum and the centers look to be painted the exact same shade of grey that all Trigos are painted. How in the world would anyone confuse them with real magnesium wheels.

As just one example, look at what Vintage did with their gold wheels, not that yours have to be painted gold to look like mags with the Dow 7 Dichromate coating, but look at the outer rim and how it's machined, not polished.

patrickt 08-13-2014 12:59 PM

OK, I've got my checkbook right here. I'll send out a check to Fran today.:(

fordracing65 08-13-2014 01:00 PM

No takers on my B day, Ill test fit them to a Kirkham and let ya all no...

rodneym 08-13-2014 01:04 PM

fordracing65 - that's a desperate attempt at a 'Happy Birthday'. So, Happy Birthday **)
Pat - maybe a different shade? I've seen Trigos that look dark grey and others blue-ish. Not a huge difference to be honest.
Now Bob's Gold/GYBB combo from Vintage? THAT'S a good lookin wheel combo! :D

patrickt 08-13-2014 01:10 PM

This is what my Trigos looked like before the upgrade...

rodneym 08-13-2014 01:15 PM

Well now, "upgrade" is relative ;)
Ok, ok, they look great

Patrick, do your wheels look like any of these below?

Or, even the wheels on the alleged CSX3016?
1965 Shelby CSX 3016 Factory 427 Competition Car

patrickt 08-13-2014 01:26 PM

If I let them sit outside in the rain for a few nights, and then threw some dust on them, they would then get that "weathered" look. But I have to say, they're georgeous just the way they are now. They look better than true mags. Take a poll, I'm sure I'm right.:p

patrickt 08-13-2014 01:28 PM

But my original point is that if you want your Trigos to look like those weathered mags, a decent restoration painter can achieve the identical look, if that's what you want.
