cobra replica chassis number
I recently purchased a 65 Cobra replica. Just below the front of the engine, there is a number stamped into the frame that is AAC-0001. Can anyone tell me where the kit came from? It was titled in 1990. The frame resembles a Shell Valley, but I called and they said they do not have records back that far.
Any help is appreciated.

You bought that at Mecum Harrisburg. Pretty sure it was accurately described at the auction as an A&C Collectibles kit?

Cashburn,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I did buy it there but did not hear them say it was an A&C collectibles kit. This is my first Cobra and am very excited! Currently, its in the shop. It was overheating, needs new interior, and I am putting roll bars and a new 6 speed tranny in it.
Were you there? Did you get one of the other 3 that were auctioned?

It is an A&C, an early one (not the first though).........

I just spoke with Joe Trombley @ A&C. He said that they were not building Cobras until 1992. He also said he doesnt stamp anything into the frame, so it is not theirs.
Anyone else have an idea. Frame number AAC-0001. I spoke to the previous owner last night and was told that the car was built by Tom Bowman in York, PA in the late 80's. It was first titled in 1990 in PA. Tom is unfortunately no longer with us so I can't ask him.
Thanks to everyone for your help.

Tom Bowman was building B&B's for a while, he also did a few "self built"chassis cars using EM bodies.

Thanks mrmustang. You seem to be a wealth of knowledge. Do you have any experience with a Tom Bowman built Cobra? The one I have seems to be very tight, coil overs, 427 w/ many upgrades, Ford 9", Jasper C6, nice brakes, tilt wheel, heater, etc.
The fenders seem to be a little oversized compared to many cobras I have seen. I am just curious. I love the car so far. If there is any bad news, you certainly arent going to hurt my ego or feelings by telling me.
