MK,
Haven't decided what to do with the wheels yet, but we have made some changes to the overriders. May also paint the pusher fans and motors.

The P-51 Cobra is home a tucked away in it's hanger. Will pull it out tomorrow for some (actually a lot of) photos.

Photos are great, but I bet people would need hours to absorb every little detail when they're standing beside the car.
Very, very cool.
Great vision; perfectly executed.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks.
It was a little scary stepping so far out of the box, but we are thrilled with the results! Now we just need some warmer weather so we can go for a rumble.
Here are a couple more pictures.

One of the details that you miss in the big pictures is that Ron brushed all of the chrome so it has a satin finish. Subtle, but makes a big difference. Also, in this shot you can see the Dzus fasteners, rivets, flush rivets and panel lines.

Got to get a better picture of the front, without all of the junk around it.

Can't wait for the video of this car behind a Mitsubishi or Audi, pulling lead for a gun pass.

Very cool! My grandfather was a p51 pilot and the level of craftsmanship and creativity has me going back to look at his plane pics.

First Shake Down Flight (Cruise)
Well the NJ weather cooperated today. Hit 57 degrees. So we took the P-51 out for its initial shake down cruise. Thanks to the guys at ERA for sprucing up our 11 year old car and for Ron and Pedro for the transformation. We were out for about an hour and a half and everything worked great. Tonya was like a kid on Christmas with the open header switch. Love that rumble when the exhaust is wide open!
Ron - I did find the oil leak behind the dash. Was the oil pressure gauge line. Only took 6 hours and three trips to the auto parts store. Good thing I started early this morning working on it!

Yeah I love it, very nicely done. It's great to see something different and unique. Get a GT40 and do the same process...just saying..
