Re; sound................
closed my eyes while listening to the open headers,& ii'l be da#$ed !!! it DOES SOUND LIKE A P-51 at IDLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Outstanding !!!!!!! |
We dyed the ports as planned and the look is perfect. Hard to see in the video so I'll take a few photos and post them. Since we had been handling the aluminum durring the exhaust install I'm going to give it another round will a final polish.
I also had to order 6 1157 sockets since the single led I though would be all that was needed for the turn signals lacked parking lights,,,,, just another slight set back. Glad you liked our white flag trick, figured a visual with the sound would be fun |
P-51, I was up visiting Ron today and got to see your car in the "Flesh" as they say. It's absolutely efin unbelieveable. The talent of the Metal-Morphous lads is truely incredible. I know that you will be blown away when you see it in person. I understand that you've moved to New Jersey. I won't question the wisdom of that. :D Hope to meet up with you in the future.

John,
We can't wait to see it and bring it home next Saturday. It's been a real pleasure working with Ron and Pedro. On the NJ front, we actually are loving it here. Looking forward to getting together with others in the area. We were picking up our trailer in PA a couple of weeks ago when the Covered Bridge Tour crowd rumbled by. Can't wait to do that next year. This thread has been awesome to follow...
Any chance that you may consider going red with the wheels to play off of the red elevator and stabilizer of the P51 shown in the pic.? Maybe even red center, yellow lip? MK. |

Haven't decided what to do with the wheels yet, but we have made some changes to the overriders. :) May also paint the pusher fans and motors. P-51 |

The P-51 Cobra is Home!
The P-51 Cobra is home a tucked away in it's hanger. Will pull it out tomorrow for some (actually a lot of) photos.
Ron & Pedro, Thanks again for making this such a fun project! You guys did an incredible job! We are proud to be driving ERA??? and MMI001. P-51 & Mrs. P-51 |
Glad your trip went well and looking forward to seeing those photos..
I'll post the short video I took of the p51 cobra being loaded for its trip home after your photo post http://www.ffcars.com/photopost/data...m/image384.jpg |

Last Photos for Now
|
Photos are great, but I bet people would need hours to absorb every little detail when they're standing beside the car.
Very, very cool. Great vision; perfectly executed. |
Congrats on the build, the transformation is outstanding.
I bet the heads turn when you are out and about! |
That is awesome - congratulations to all involved and thanks for sharing.
|
Fantastic. I absolutely love it. Well done and congratulations.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks.
It was a little scary stepping so far out of the box, but we are thrilled with the results! :D Now we just need some warmer weather so we can go for a rumble. Here are a couple more pictures. One of the details that you miss in the big pictures is that Ron brushed all of the chrome so it has a satin finish. Subtle, but makes a big difference. Also, in this shot you can see the Dzus fasteners, rivets, flush rivets and panel lines. Got to get a better picture of the front, without all of the junk around it. Rick & Tonya |
Can't wait for the video of this car behind a Mitsubishi or Audi, pulling lead for a gun pass.
|
Just.... wow.
REALLY nice. :) |
The best build thread in a long, long time.
