Default Overcharging Alternator

Hey Guys
So I have replaced the Voltage Reg and the Alternator and still have a serious overcharge condition. My volt meter will read 13-14 at idle and will go over 18 when the motor is rev'd
The dash has been out of the car, but I haven't rewired anything other than replacing the amp meter with a volt gage.

Suggestions please!

Verify your readings with a known good voltmeter. Put the leads across the batt terminals.

There does exist a wiring change for SPF cars that is associated with the regulator / alternator circuit. It involves the regulator sense wire and the symptom is overcharging. Its documented in the SCOF tech library. Does your ammeter needle also bounce around a lot?

Check that voltage right at the alternator first. That way you know what you really have. Also have your wife rev it up to check that voltage too.
