Finally pulled the trigger on an ERA

After lurking and looking and tire kicking for a couple years, finally found what I was looking for. Decided on an ERA 289 FIA. Unfortunately the car was in Hawaii so have to spend a small fortune and wait a month to get her, but couldn't be happier. I had almost decided to build one but this baby only has 3k miles and saved me a ton off a new build and I get her this year instead of next.

Just in time for spring!

Very nice, congrats.

It will be well worth the wait. Enjoy, it looks like a nice car. Can't go wrong with an ERA.

Silversmith 02-21-2015 07:41 AM

Welcome to the club. You will love the ERA; they are rock solid and you will see why they are consistently rated one of the very top replicas in performance, looks, value, resale and just pure unadulterated pleasure of the Cobra world

:3DSMILE:WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION:D :cool:THERE IS NO CURE

Is that the car from Hawaii ?

Yep, on a container ship as of yesterday. More than a little stressful wondering how she'll be treated along the way.

Ron61 02-21-2015 08:31 AM

Congratulations. That is a nice looking car. A friend of mine had his shipped from Hawaii to here and it came through great except it was dirty as all get out with some kind of sticky substance on it. But it came off pretty easy.

3000 miles is good. I would say that I had 95% of the "bugs" worked out of my turnkey by 3000. 99% by 5000. Provided it was taken care for properly (and it sounds like it was) a car like that can actually be better than new.:)

G-Pete 02-21-2015 08:41 AM

NICE!!

Have fun and enjoy that car!!!!

Hotfingrs 02-21-2015 09:09 AM

Good Choice.......

sudsreddy 02-21-2015 09:11 AM

Looks Great. Congrats!

I just pulled the trigger as well and picked up an ERA last weekend, during snow storm. I should post a write up describing the pickup.. it was an interesting day.

I also sold a Cougar and it was shipped to Germany on a container. These guys know what they are doing and will take good care of your car. I will be nerve racking until the car is safely in your garage.

I'll echo that ERAs are awesome. My pick-up of my car from ERA was also an experience - cold rain (December 21st), lock on the trailer wouldn't open - ERA guys came out with a cut-off tool and removed it. We had a flat tire on the trailer - ERA guys came out with a jack and tools and had it changed in no time, all this in the rain. The best part was it was their Christmas party day so we got to enjoy that before hitting the road.

Greg, not sure where in MD you are but if you're near the PA border a group of us go for rides together frequently. One route dips down into both Delaware and Maryland along the way.

I'm sure you're like a kid waiting for Christmas morning...

Kevin

You got a really great car, I watched it from the day it hit the Hawaii craigslist.
