I have extolled this in this forum. If I were to spend ~500K on a Cobra it wouldn't be a 427, original or replica. I had a wussy 427 Windsor, and never felt I was doing the engine justice. Remember the FE engines were also marine and dry land pump engines, intended for 24x7 high RPM constant load operation. That made them perfect race engines. But on the street the 427 roush kept asking me to "run it harder". I can't even imagine what a cammer would feel like (although I'd like to drive Jay's).

If I were to spend that much money on one now it would be an original 289 street car. That is approximately what they sell for. If I were to buy a replacement replica it would also be a 289 family car.

Oh brother... duplicate message...

Good night, Bob. Glad you're here. Come back any time and chime in - wisdom from old-time Cobra owners is occasionally in short supply and therefore welcome.

My name is Ron Barsamian and I live in Fresno. I know you have lots of Cobra stuff, but do you have any spare water?

Stick around...

Bob: Welcome! sir! We would certainly welcome you historical knowledge, wisdom and info.

BTW: Can you spare any old parts???? ;) Would love to consult with you on CSX 4206.

Evan Harris aka Real 1. Live in central NJ.

Tony: I said I wouldn't spend $500,000.00 on a continuation series Cobra at this time. Who knows, in the future that may be the going number.

Tony, you're late to the party, and behind on original 289 street Cobra prices by about half, sorry to say.

Holy cow, I guess I was asleep at the wheel on that one. 190SLs too. And 300SL (both gullwing and roadster). Oh well.

Bill, I think you're in the wrong room. You want Room 109 down the hall, where the "Flipper's Anonymous" meeting is being held.:LOL::LOL:

Probably why the guy wanted to stay in hiding, so he would not get hounded about people asking for parts...let him take his shoes off first and relax a bit...

That's why Evan was so interested in a complete listing of all the OEM parts at Denbeste.

Ferrari has a program called "Classiche" certification and authentication, Shelby could maybe start a similar program. Thus, maybe for LARGE "Certification and Authentication" Fee, Evan can have 4206 re-certified and re-badged as a CSX3000 "Competiton" series, no? :p

I was just thinking..."You know, seems like everyone has a "stash" these days. I want a "stash" too!" :(

;)

I guess I'm fortunate when it comes to stashes of parts. All my Cobra parts are "stashed" at a secret location in Provo, UT. And I'm planning on "raiding" the "stash" at some future date with approval from the "caretakers" of "my stash." And I still have to pay the "caretakers" for my future withdrawal from "my parts stash."

Oops, I said too much already.:LOL:
