You'd think that for a half million bucks someone could spell Girling correctly on the sales brochure.

But, other than that, looks like you're staring at a 60's era Cobra.

Now, that's a replica worth having!

NOS "like" stuff.

You all know the difference between a fairy tale and an old car story?

A fairy tale starts..."Once upon a time..." An old car story starts..."Once upon a time, no sh*t"

Thanks for posting those Tim! It looks great but what exactly is "original" on the car? Period engine block?

The brochure indicates it is not NOS. It says vintage block and lists how it was re-built by Carroll Shelby Engine Company (owned by Denbeste).

You can bet they would say NOS if it was.

Thanks guys … I do enjoy taking pictures.

Allow me to side track the thread for a moment, as there seems to be some interest in bare / polished Cobras ...

Here are a few photos I took at the Norcal Shelby Mini-Nats 30 last month at Sonoma Raceway. Two 50th Anniversary cars, a 289 FIA and a Coupe. I particularly like the FIA car, the spot finish roundel is very clever ... two more shiny cars to admire … enjoy!

It would be interesting to see the build sheet on the FIA Cobra, is there any more info?

Afraid I don't have the build specs, but this car was offered in SAI's Prototype Vehicle Sale this past May at an asking price of $400,000 USD. %/

So for somewhat around $2million you could have a complete line up of Shelby 5 card trick Retro collection ....

1 427 SC
2 Coupe
3 289 Slab
4 289 FIA
5 428 Street - im sure one could be knocked up.

I am easily distracted by shinny things.

The competition Shelby is a nice car. I could nit pick it but I won't.

I would say that's a Serb body for a number of reasons.

I was wondering if this was going to be stated from the Shelby Foundation, but I'd heard that Serb's car was the first one actually to be completed. It will be interesting to see the two cars together (if/when that ever happens). I expect there will be variations, but that there will be variations even between the same sources. As hand built vehicles, even the originals were different from each other.

I can think of worse ways to spend the money. CSX9950 and CSX7999 are two of the sexiest cars to ever wear a CSX # in my opinion...Beautiful. Thanks for posting. Never get tired of seeing cars like this. Jewelry...

Nice also to see Smiths gauges on a 427.

Tim, great shots; thanks for posting.

Cheers,
