Larry

I thought it meant he sold coolers. You know, the kind you carry your beer to the beach.

Buzz: Thanks my friend. Just got back from you neck of the woods.

Just picked up a Frederique Constant tank and a Ulysse Nardin Mariner Chronometer in the "Chocolate" in St. Kitts.

Oh, forgot. I'll post pics of the watches. That seems to be the procedure here.

LOL! Hope you had a good time. You might as well post pics of the tank too - the way some of these threads have gone you never know what kind of debate that will provoke!

Edit - See- I didn't even know a Fredrique Constant Tank was a wach until I looked it up (Ulysse Nardin I'm familiar with of course ), so it would be educational.

It's called the "Open Heart Beat" as you can see the movement through a window. I think a donation to a heart fund (maybe the Shelby Heart fund :D) is made with the purchase.

Will post pics when I get a chance.

:)

Obviously a replica made by the same company. I see three issues.

1: Quite obviously that is not a motor but an engine. The keepers of the cooler bible are very clear when they rightly state that only electric motors are allowed. Shall I quote you the ten pages? Besides, that thing looks like a small block.
2: That's not the correct shade of white.
3: Don't get me started on the wheels. Obviously aluminum and not magnesium, never mind that the knockoffs are modern hex instead of true knockoff.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection I see that the front wheels are actually cotter key and not hex. According to the Shelby bible and backed up by my own interpretations, cotter keys are allowed as long as they are made in South Africa (if in the correct part of the factory), Mexico, or Nevada.

Therefore: I shall lock onto this single discovery and ignore any other pertinent information. I declare it to in fact be real.

Hi Mike,

Since the gas powered vehicles are called engines, wht is Detroit known as The Motor city?

Ron

G-Pete 11-25-2015 06:40 AM

My cool beats your cool hehehehe

SCAT 25 this year. The Shelby crew was there - SCAT and Aaron Shelby (Legacy Bank) hosted that event. A few originals were there also the #13 Comp car.

Peter Brock checked out my car...and signed it.

Now comes the cool part (next day email):

Hello Peter…..I was really impressed with the Cobra you scratch-built. If I’d been judging the SCAT 25 show you would have won Best of Show! Really a very impressive piece of work. Keep up the great work! All the Best, Peter Brock

:D:D

G-Pete 11-25-2015 06:46 AM

Welcome back, Mr Cool. Was kinda dull around here.

G-Pete 11-25-2015 06:52 AM

Wouldn't you say that takes that "Original vs. Replica debate" to a whole new level.

A replica better than an original hehe. (said Peter Brock)

Ron61 11-25-2015 06:58 AM

G-Pete,

That is really cool that Pete Brock looked your Cobra over and signed it and especially the email. Congratulations.

Ron :)

Congrats Pete, frame that email! Just goes to show accuracy and quality of build can garner just as much attention and praise as any of them including originals :)
