Bill , it looks like your using the grooved jaws that came with your shrinker/stretcher, there is an outfit in the USA somewhere that remove the grooves and apply a 'stippled' finish for use on alloy, does not mark the alloy as much and therefore eliminates the tendency for the alloy to crack on the grooves.... gitzit or something like that...
