Contemporary Classics circa 1985.

Congrats. Very nice! And a great color! An important and memorable day for sure...lots of smiling in the pics which says it all!

FWIW, take a hard look at the tires and think about something else for your own safety, and take it EASY getting used to it! These cars will kill you in the blink of an eye and we hope to have you around for a long time!;)

Winchester67 03-03-2016 01:32 PM

Outstanding! Might as well take those garage shelves down now...otherwise, you will wake up tonight convinced you heard the screws pulling out of the wall and the Cobra is in impending danger from the shelf giving away...you will worry about it a lot at the start of the ownership period. Which is healthy! That way you go easy on the gas until you are used to it...big fun all around. Welcome to the frat!

Congratulations great looking machine. Love the colour

JWilly 03-03-2016 01:43 PM

Congrats! Great color...What is the color?

Bernica 03-03-2016 01:50 PM

And you realize or course that buying the car is just the "entry fee", right?
Now you will learn many things, most of which is all here on this site from setting up the garage to tyres to anything else you can imagine with the car.
Again, congrats.;)

Looks good, can't wait to see it up close and in person. You will need to start investing in all sorts of other things. At least it did not show up during the freezing rain and ice that we had a couple of days ago. First thing to get is a low profile jack and some jack stands so that you can change the oil and get underneath the car to lube it and check for anything else that might need attending to. Check your bushings, if they are original from 1985 they may need to be replaced. Good luck. Warm weather is just around the corner.

That smile on your face says it all!!!! Congrats

Bernica 03-03-2016 02:17 PM

First order of business is to lose the "Corvette Only" parking sign n the garage wall!;)

patrickt 03-03-2016 02:49 PM

I want a picture in front of the Falls themselves. OK, maybe when it gets a little warmer.

I have the entire build manual and invoices for all parts, isn't that crazy!

They called it Ruby Red with a gold undercoat. Thank you, it is really beautiful! Of course i'm quite bias right now (oh and i'm still sitting in the car) :MECOOL:

Mils 03-03-2016 03:00 PM

i know this is the wrong thread, but i'm looking at rear Nitto NT555R 275/60/15 or MT ET Street S/S same size. My Vette had Nitto's (305's) but with the traction control couldn't really tell the stickiness.

These **** BFG are 295/50/15's, so with the math i think the 275/60/15 are comparable.

Thoughts?

1985 CCX 03-03-2016 03:10 PM

Bernica 03-03-2016 03:11 PM

Rjw289 03-03-2016 05:45 PM

From one CCX owner to another-congratulations and the smile will always be there. Be careful though!
