Site is back, but lost some days....and....
I have a new server, but it's taking a bit more time to move things over. We're still currently on the old server, but I do have a pretty kick ass server ready. The challenge is software all loving each other. So working through getting new hardware needing new OS, and using older software = some issues to work through to make it all work.
It's been a really long couple of weeks working on this crap and I am REALLY sorry for the inconvenience. Hard drives took a dump and the back ups essentially backed up corrupted data, so I had to go back in time.
Sorry...head lowered in shame.

Appreciate all the work being done.
Never realise how much you miss some thing till it's not there.
Thanks again, and I am sure this community will be firing on all 8 again soon.

Brent,
It is working well for me and I know that making the new software work with the old during the change over ism a pain. Thank you for the hard work.

No need to apologize for anything. Your efforts on our behalf are greatly appreciated. The occasional glitch keeps us from getting too complacent about all you do for us.

No shame Brent. Keep your chin up. I really never thought about the work involved in running a web site (that's shameful), I do now!! Thanks so much for your efforts.

New Idea
You know, this year, for all the people that work for me, I'm just going to tell them "thanks" and "what a great job you do." But I'm not going to give them a raise or bonus. In fact, I'm not going to pay them anything at all. I wonder how that'll work out....

Brent,
Full disclosure I'm new to the site...
Having owned and run a very large site top 500 in US where we would get a few hundred thousand from all over the world tuning in on a Saturday night at an exact time to get the play by play only to drop(broken db strings) at the moment when there was a knock out by the champ, hundreds of thousands of advertisers dollars spent was one of the worst times I can remember.
I thought for sure We were done.....but then it was like when the Whos from whoville came out to celebrate xmas even though there were no presents to exchange. This is in no way like that...your screwed....just kidding

Today the forum feels much "crisper", so it looks like the new server is doing its job. Was it just a processor change or did you get a different internet connection/provider too? Most of the time the slow things seemed more related to the sensation that this was at the far end of a tin can and string than underpowered computer resources.
So, how about a change? This is the only forum (of about 50 currently, and in fact, forever) that limits any search function to one per minute/ Would it be possible while you're tweeking things to do away with that? It essentially means that bouncing back and forth between "new posts" and "today's posts" or a refresh of either requires a minute wait. This was probably done to keep from flooding from outside attacks, but I don't think anyone does that any more.
Keep the time between posts though, that helps from duplicate posts that often happen when someone hits POST before the first one is done (and even that is less likely with the new faster server).

Finally!
That interim period was funky.
I stayed away like Patrickt to work. Like RodKnock to the road.
Ahhhh, feels like home again.
Thanks, Brent!
