I was at the dealer and took it for a spin, that's the reason for the new tires. The old ones just held a 2 minute burnout. What I did not like how the motor sounded at 8500 rpm, kinda shrill.......:D

I know, it does not sound good good at 8500 rpm, but that sound clears up at 9,000, I think it's just a resonance of the pipes. |

Welcome to the madness! I bought a Cobra replica to replace riding motorcycles as well. I went a slightly different route engine wise to match or exceed the acceleration of the modern big litre bikes. No regrets and still loving it after a decade on the road.
The only downside is I have the itch to go down a 1/4 mile track once in a while. Most tracks, while VERY accomodating towards motorcycles, limit us to 13.5 second times, if allowed at all.
On another note, may I suggest wearing hearing protection (if you aren't already). I damaged the hearing in my L ear from my first few years on the road.

Yes, I am careful with my hearing and have been for years. The greatest numerical db reduction earplugs available, always, for my motorcycles and the Cobra. I would not drive the thing without hearing protection. That is certainly ear damaging levels coming out of those sidepipes.
Thank you for the note on ear protection and everyone should take note of that. |

Your car sounds like a lot of fun. I can only agree with what you say about the 427. During my hunt last year I could drive a bunch of Cobras, mostly Unique, FFR and SPF cars with 351's, a few strokers, and 427's.
351's were probably the most 'round' engine with best overall car behavior probably due to better weight distribution. The 427's even with less ponies were beasts... You can guess what I went with :)
